What's New Thursday?
Hi Eileen and Everyone,
Thanks, Eileen, for the suggestion from yesterday about the tea. I'm going to try it for sure. I was in bed early last night and slept through the night. It was a long day yesterday and I heard many, many times I looked tired. Today is a new day! I'm off tomorrow so today is the last day of dragging myself to work. Good. Best part of being sick is the scale went down a pound this morning! I'll take any loss as it's been a while.
I guess my son-in-law ended up in ER with a bad case of the flu. New in town and couldn't get an appointment with any doctor. He's spending the week 3 hours away from my daughter and son-in-law as my daughter is applying for a job in the little town. The ER put a few IV bags in him, ran some tests, and determined a bad case of flu or food poisoning. Yuk....
Yesterday, my grandson turned 14 years old. Yikes... Hard to believe but he's a full-fledged teenager and pretty good at it! He's a good kid so I'm happy.
Nothing - absolutely nothing - else to share today. Have a great day.
Hugs,
Kathi
After that we have a budget preparation meeting and I am SO not ready!! Of course the utility superintendent is not going to be there and he gave me very little info to go on, so whatever I decide will just have to do I guess!
Our DIL sent pixs of their little girl. They are just adorable! She (baby) has apparently discovered she has a tongue!! In at least half of the pictures she has her little tongue sticking out........curled up, on the side, whatever......I am sure DIL Ebony doesn't like how they look, but I just look at them and giggle!!
Sounds like we are going to have our grandson staying overnight with us Friday night. He was here last night for dinner and didn't want to leave. They live about twenty minutes from here, so Grandpa invited him to stay Friday night! He is six, our first grandchild.........and his grandpa's delight!
Well, better go do something productive. Have a wonderful stress free day everyone!
Hugs...........V
It's only a little warmer here this morning, Eileen....28. Yup, winter is here for sure.
When I sat down with my latte this morning I looked out in the back yard only to find that we'd been TP'd!!! Now, I did more than my fair share of decorating friends and neighbors yard with Charmin (well, the cheap stuff, actually) when I was a teen, so I knows it when I sees it. Sure enough, white double ply all over the back yard. I know the culprits, they'll be dealt with with great haste as soon as they wake up from napping on my couch. Tall dog loves toilet paper and short dog loves shredding paper (like the water bill) so the two must have had a marvelous time yesterday. Oh yeah, Gary will hear ALL about this for leaving the bathroom door and temptation open for the boys.
Best go clean it up before they eat it and cause some sort of expensive blockage. We got the $1800 dentist bill yesterday for Gary's root canal/crown, so can't pay for a vet bill too.
You all have a dandy day!
Susan
Thanks for the tea suggestion, Eileen. I can't get to the store yet but will look for it when I go. I am feeling better, not great, but better.
Brenda, get thee to the doc! Take care of you!
Not much going on. I am in my never ending struggle with bad carbs, bread...I don't think it will ever change...will always nag me...
We are suppose to have our 1st big snow tonight or tomorrow night. Boy, they make such a big deal about it...hello...it's winter....we have snow here...."they" being the local news shows. Myself, I prefer some snow in Dec rather then rain...Sure, it can be a pain...but it is so beautiful and quiet... I love it.
Feels weird being home all this time...I always feel guilty...
Tom had a card waiting for me on the kitchen counter this morning. It was to remember our 1st date...he is a keeper that is for sure...just gotta keep him off of the ladder.
Well, off to rest a bit...
Take care all,
Cheryl

Good Morning Eileen and Friends, Cold here too, right around freezing and clear. Last night I let Maggie out during the night. I stood on the deck looking at the stars. She made a beeline down the side yard and straight to the fence on the east side of the yard, stuck her nose up in the air and started HOWLING! I've heard the phrase"howling at the moon." Saw it in person! How funny. She's all of 5 lbs, a shaggy little Yorkie, but her wild instincts are intact!
Headed to Spokane this morning with a friend, about a 2 hr drive. We'll attend The Color Purple, the musical at 1pm then drive another 3 hours to Lake Chelan to spend 2 nights with our friend there. Chelan is one of my favorite places in the world. Our friend is a retired fellow teacher and administrator who lives there with her 91 yr old mom. Always relaxing and fun to visit them.
Little things taken care of around here yesterday: small carpet area at bottom of the steps, deck rail finished, heat ducts put in wall down stairs, took cabinet doors in the have glace put in. We're getting there. Just a few small odds and end left. Tomorrow we'll actually have tp holder and towel racks in our mast bathroom! Yippee!
Gotta get a shower and get in gear. Will be back Saturday late. Take care.
