I have the same thing Brenda and was told by my doctor that it was an umbilical hernia.  He also said it could suddenly cause me a great deal of pain and become life threatening. I have not had any pain with it yet and like you, have not gotten medical attention for it. I'm not sure what I'm waiting for.  A medical emergency??  I'll be sorry if that happens.

I had an umbilical hernia and while it hurt, it did not cause me to be constipated, like Brenda says hers is. Mine was pre-WLS and was repaired, coincidentally, by the doctor who trained my bariatric doctor (when he saw me a few years later when I need to go back to him for a consult when I was considering plastics, he said, "wow, I didn't recognize you. Who did this to you?" So I told him and he said, "Jamie Foote? I trained him." Then it turned out that he also trained the woman I was considering for my plastics (which I didn't have ... had a knee replacement instead).

I don't think umbilical hernias turn into medical emergencies often, unless they strangle the bowel, which I would think is rare (but I'm no doc). Umbilical hernia, in my case, is genetic, and both my brothers also have them.
