1-how do you feel about re-gifting??    .................  it's OK if the gift fits the receiver's personality, or needs  ............ don't know if I have received one. ............  I don't remember if I ever have done this.

2-how do you feel about Christmas cards with pre-printed address labels?            Some of them are quite decorative and fancy.  I prefer seeing the actual handwriting but... hey, it doesn't make or break the greeting.

3-do you tip service people-ie newspaper/hairdresser (yay carla and susan!!) /etc ?
Absolutely, nothing major but a nice token of appreciation...  Starbucks coffee card.... ( after all it is Starbuck country out here  lol )

4-aside from the scare of stores going out of biz-how do you feel about giving gift cards?    I like giving a small gift with a gift card.  I do it mainly with clothing; easier to fit, style is better.

5-if you put up a tree
when do you put it up and how long does it stay up?   Only little trees;  theme trees.... we have several that the ornaments stay on all year.

do you have traditions about putting it up?  I love the muppets Christmas Carol dvd.... I like it playing in the background

6-brenda did our mouthwatering monday around holiday breads--do you have other traditional holiday foods?    Since living alone or with Mom, traditions have gone by the wayside. Diabetes and now WLS has put a damper on my holiday foods.   I have a recipe box, folder and many books to draw from.  My favorites were the stollen type breads.

7-i know that some of our OFF family are of Jewish faith, and i do not wish to leave you out here- do you have certain holiday time traditions that you enjoy? are faithful to?  My sister is now muslim and the holidays can be hard on her.  I make a point of sharing the "winter festivals" with her.  She decorates with snowmen..... I also pay attention to Ramadan and do something for her then.

8-to those same folks in question #7--are you offended by receiving traditional Christmas cards?

1-how do you feel about re-gifting??

as the recipient? OK

as the giver? OK

2-how do you feel about Christmas cards with pre-printed address labels? OK

3-do you tip service people-ie newspaper/hairdresser (yay carla and susan!!) /etc ? Sometimes I tip the hairdresser (depends on how much extra money I have) I have in the past given a small gift to the newspaper carrier but haven't in years because I haven't had extra money. But, knowing how bad things are in the newspaper business and especially for the carriers, I would like to ... we'll have to see how my money is. Nobody tips their copy editor, though!

4-aside from the scare of stores going out of biz-how do you feel about giving gift cards? I'm OK with that, it's easier on me.

5-if you put up a tree
when do you put it up and how long does it stay up? I put it up on the day after Thanksgiving and usually take it down around Jan. 6 or thereabouts ... this year it may stay up longer because of my knee surgery.

do you have traditions about putting it up? No, I put it up when I have time. It's a ceramic tree.

6-brenda did our mouthwatering monday around holiday breads--do you have other traditional holiday foods? No, but when I was a kid, my mom always made German cookies ... they were made with lard and sour cream (don't go ewww ... they were really good!) They were cutout cookies, and we made them on a Sunday night ... Mom hated them because they were a lot of work. My brother and I tried re-creating them after we left home, but they really needed to be made a certain way, and we didn't do it that way, we tried the shortcuts (his wife wanted to skip the lard, and that didn't work!)

 Regifting......I don't do it

as a recipent.....I hope it is something I would enjoy

As a giver...No I never regift

Christmas cards with labels..Well I always hand wrie mine, but I do not care if others arrive with a label, as long as the inside message is hand written..They bought a card, paid for a stamp and remembered me on their Christmas Card List..I have to love that!

Yes I usually tip, paper boy, hairdresser, that's about it.

The Christmas Tree was always a very big deal at our house, it had to be seven feet tall, all our 3 children and DH and I would go shopping in the lot's for the very best tree. If we didn't agree ...off we would go to the next lot, later the girlfriends came too, then they got married, and didn't want to pick out the Tree anymore..A sad day...but in the end so much easier. We bought a 7 foot tree, hubby puts it up and strings all the lights, and I and whatever grandchildren are here decorate it. It was a always a tradition to toast the tree when it was done, we had egg nog, or whatever and all shared a Toast. It is put up about mid Dec. Down  Jan.6th, we alo tried out the Christmas cookies etc.

#6..We have to have mincemeat pies and mini cheesecakes, and Christmas Eve we have family for Tortiere, french for Meat pies, and shortbread cookies etc. Christmas Eve night we go to mass,
and prepare for the big day.
I have the supper, it would be like your Thanksgiving, Turkey, Ham; potatoes, carrots, turnip, stuffing and cranberries to mention a few. It will be at 6 pm. My dad who is 90 years old will be here for that as well as family. This year the grandchildren will open their gifts after the dinner.

#7...I like to celebrate all religions important days. We all pray to the man upstairs, theirs may not be mine, but they do celebrate their important days too. In their own way. We are all god's children.
#8....I do not know, but I doubt it.
So many traditions that must be passed on, sometimes when I look at my Teenager grandkids, I wonder, but I have a feeling, if you do the same things often enough ,something has to stick haha
