Hi JoAnn,I hope your check up goes well. The easiet way to protect yourself is to only eat foods you have eaten already. My NUT said never to try a new food when you are out,of course my hard head had to learn that the hard way.
Now I really know,so I hope I can save you from the pain I went through.
Good luck girl!

Linda,

Well, I got a .3 cc fill yesterday.  My surgeon wouldn't give me more because he's about to leave town for 2 weeks and, as I have discovered, if I run into trouble while he's gone, no one will touch me, not even at the hospital where I had my band surgery.  (Something's wrong with that picture!)  But he said I could come back in 2 weeks and get the other .5 cc, so I made an appt. for 12/23.

Today will be a challenge for me, food-wise.  I'm going to lunch with a bunch of former co-workers at a restaurant that basically serves bar food, and tonight I'm going to a potluck holiday supper with my writer's group.

B: weight control oatmeal made w/ skim milk, banana, & PB2
S: yogurt
L: ? maybe the toppings off a piece of pizza? this place doesn't even serve salad!
S: probably none
D: I'm bringing lasagna made w/ zucchini instead of pasta, and broccoli salad
S: probably a small piece of the coconut cake one of my writer's group members promised to bring tonight

Jean

Hi Jean, your fake lasagna sounds good, most of all,you have learned to protect yourself with the right foods.
I hope you have a great time. It sounds like the band only helps your appetite, and gives you no way to protect your head against over eating,so this you learn as you go.
Good luck dear friend, glad to hear your band has you in a good place again.
Enjoy your holiday gathering!

Morning Linda,

I am running late. Don't know how that happened, I've been up for hours.

My boss called me in to complete my annual review - it was due last APRIL!! She asked me to be preprared to write new goals for myself. I haven't any good ideas other than STAY WARM. That's not what she is expecting so I'll have to fake it...

Kisses
Annette

Back home, kept warm with FOUR layers of shirts & sweaters, leggings, jeans and wool socks.

Doing a happy dance because she gave me a raise and has offered the position of Senior Staff Mentor for the new staff training program. The raise isn't very big but I'm pleased to have a job that is good.

Good morning Linda and Friends!  Want to share those meds?

At the start of my new position, I was having trouble with munching.  In the main office, there's always someone bringing goodies.  They were easy to avoid from across the hall.  So, the first few weeks I lost control.  Happy to say I have regained control and can easily say, "No thank you".  In fact, George is concerned because he thinks I don't eat enough the last week or two.  For instance, last night for dinner I had a protein shake while he ate a full dinner.  He accompanied me to my support group meeting.  I was a bit hungry when we got home at 8:30, so I had a snack of 3 crackers and some cheese, later a cup of tea.  Lunch had been a hot dog with chili and cheese and about 1/4 of a bun (couldn't handle any more of the bread).  Breakfast had been a pack of weight control oatmeal and later a protein shake.

Today:
B - protein shake
S - cheese or another protein shake
L - broiled catfish filet with lots of spices, and 2 tbsp. mashed taters  maybe a little cheese on the taters
S - yogurt or cheese
D - roast beef cooked with tomatoes, onions, garlic, celery, and bell peppers - of course some Parm. sprinkled on top. and a veggie.
S - ? a spoon of peanut butter sounds good.

Luv y'all, Debbie
