update
It's been a while since I posted. The last time was when I was having food issues and severe pain. The pain turned out to be a giant ulcer that has occupied my pouch and my rerouted small intestine. They are trying to avoid doing surgery but the medications they gave me aren't really helping. I am going in in two weeks and having a scope done and he said he will decide what is the best treatment. The good news, my son, who had wls a year ago, has made it to goal. He went from 470 pounds to 245. He's 6'4", so you can imagine how thin he looks. I swear his arms hang to his knees. LOL. Oh, and I am now walking six miles a day and three of it is uphill. LOL. I am thinking once I get this ulcer thing cleared up, I'm heading in for plastics. Well, that's it for my update. I still like soup and eat cream of wheat and am teaching and writing that dissertation, which will be done soon.

Jeannie, Jeannie, Jeannie....
It's always fun when you decide to pay us a visit!!
Sorry for that pesky ulcer but that can get fixed. Yea for you walking six miles a day..... holy smoly... good for you!!!
I could live on soup and cream of wheat...but the only thing that keeps me from eating the cofw is that we had puppies one time and that's what made them fatten up.... I always think of that when I get it out and make it for a quick breakfast!!
I had my plastics.... yeah, baby....go for it. Maui Karen just had hers....
Find a teaching hospital....get it cheaper.

6 miles a day? Good God and this from the woman who was told to stay off her feet before surgery? Whoo hoo for you Jeannie girl! Oh excuse me, Dr Jeannie girl! (almost anyway)
Your son sounds like he is doing great also, good for him! in just a year? WOW!
So sorry to hear about your ulcer. Hope they can correct that with out more surgery, but plastics, oh gurl, you are going to make me jealous! None for me unless my ship comes in, and I doubt thats gonna happen anytime soon!
Always wonderful to hear from you, don't be a stranger ok?

Hi Jeannie! So good to hear from you. So sorry to hear about the ulcer. Hope it can be medically managed a bit longer instead of surgically. But you don't want to have to have emergency surgery like Barbara Bush, either.
So glad you're still working hard on your dissertation! Best wishes to you and your family always.

I've been wondering how you were doing, but figured you were just busy with school. Do they give you an explanation as to how this happened? Certainly not from soup and cream of wheat!
It's really hard to believe that it's been a year already since your son's surgery. Way to go! Those men sure can drop the pounds, can't they?
I'd love to see you. Probably couldn't recognize you since you've lost all your weight and grown hair. Please keep us up on the ulcer thing....
Sweet tater hugs
