Welllllll GOOD MORNING everyone!
Here it is 0022 and I just woke up from the couch and heading to bed!  LOL!!
The party seemed quite sucessful inspite of the snow fall we had.  Everything turned out wonderfully well.  For a group of ladies who just became good friends because we like to make baskets, it is just amazing at how well we all get along and how close we have all become.  Of course we all brought food, and of course I ate WAY too much bad stuff, but today is another day.....in my dramatic Scarlett O'Hara voice.  So, what's new with you all?  I'll be back later to read, heading to bed now!

Gee - I thought I'd be the only one up at this time.
Well, one course marked and loaded on the college's intranet from home so that my students can see their marks right now if they're still up.  I have an exam to make up for Thursday and exams to mark from this week still, but I am finished one course, and that feels good.
My big German shepherd, who I adopted earlier this year, is peeing and pooping in the house almost everyday.  He's 110 lbs., so you can imagine the mess.  He's spending most of his time on the hardwood floors, but even they are taking a toll from the mess.  I can't figure out what's wrong with him.  I thought that he was feeling that he wasn't getting enough attention, so he's spent the last few evenings in the carpeted living room with me and the smaller G shepherd.  He did really well until this evening when he pooped in the carpeted hall - luckily on a small rug that was there.  I'm going to walk him for as long as I can tomorrow, something I haven't done in a long while. Hopefully, I'll see a change soon.  He came from an abusive life with an elderly man and found it hard to trust me initially.  He has made a lot of progress and is a real sweetie and I just love all of his long haired 110 lb. self.  He's my Derwood Kirby and, somehow, we'll figure this out  -  boy, it sounds like Eileen and I have had the same problem only on a different scale  -  deja vu all over again  .  Any advice Eileen?
Have a good day everybody.  Margaret

Margaret, My Angus was abused also before I adopted him.  He will upon occasion pee in the house and sometimes poop too.  I found that when I let him outside again right after the morning meal, there is no poop.  AS for the pee, I haven't figured that one out yet. It used to be just when I had foster dogs.  I'm not fostering anymore, but this week twice I came home from work to a flood.  Granted it could have been Daphne doing it, but I suspect Angus.  I am gone about 9-10 hours per day and he is getting older, but.......who knows!!???

Nope, no advice ... I grew up with a dog in the house (Lady, a beagle/****er spaniel mix), but have had cats ever since I've been on my own. Never thought I'd like cats, but they grew on me. They're a lot easier to take care of, and especially with my lifestyle (especially when I was a sportswriter and on the road a lot).

I really don't know what to do with Diva because I've never had a cat that has done this. All of my cats have gone in the litter box without a problem, even when they were sick ... Kittle (now deceased) was diabetic and went in the litter box, and his pee left the clumping litter like cement, it was so intense. I had to change litter types because of that ... but he still used the box. That's why this so confounds me. I hope my former cat sitter can get her back on the right track and get her back to me because I really love Diva ... she is such a sweetie and so clever and smart. I have never known a cat like her. I would hate to have her out of my life.

our brody (dane) will poop and pee when he is left aloneover 7 hours-yet he can sleep on our bed for almost 9 with no problems....
he came from a wonderful home before we got him- melissa (from here)  and greg took him in a few years back and she said his conditions then were deplorable-i saw pics of him then and she descirbed the frozen disgusting mess in his crate--anyhow- he has a time limit to his home alone bladder and poo..just mentioning---

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

I should have mentioned, Derwood Kirby does this when I'm home.
I'm away from home for about 6 hours every day and he never has a problem, and he isn't crated.  When I get home, he and Creena go out immediately and then they're out probably 3-4 times other than that during the evening.  In between those outings, he decides to pee and/or poop on the floor.  I never see him do it.   That's why I think that it's about attention, but I don't know.  I don't think that there could be anything wrong with him because he does not do this when he's left for 6 hrs during the day.
Wish I knew what he is thinking.

Good morning Debbie and all.

Fairly crappy day.  Picked up the car from Pep Boys.  They ran the diagnostic and did not charge me because it was not something they can fix.  Problem with the cooling system.  Duh.

So we had it towed to our dealership.  Rented a car.  $260 later.  Grrr.

Well, hopefully today will be better.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Good to see I'm not the only one up. I'm up because of pain.Friday my Lab was playing with 2 of the neighbors puppies (about 4months) and I was trying to stop her from being mean to them. To make a long story short the puppy ran to me trying to get away from Shadow and they made me fall. I fell so hard on knees that they bruised imediately. I fell and knocked over the water bowl that I had just filled. So I was wet and in pain. I had to just sit there for a few minutes it hurt so bad. Now I hurt all over from the big jar to my body from the fall. I already have arthritis and it has been acting up, now this on top of it. I scared all the dogs with the fall, they ran off the porch. Then they came back when they heard me crying. Like what did I do? I was at home by myself, hubby hadn't gottten home from work yet. I finally got back in the house and I called him. He was on his way.
My Lab weighs about 70 pounds and solid. The pups probably weigh about 15-20 pounds. So I felt like she was gonna hurt them and I didn't want to have a confrontation with the neighbor. My dog needs an attitude adjustment. She can get out of control. Sometimes I think she will really hurt me. Well, now she did cause me to get hurt. She's not quite a year old still a puppy but a BIG one.
Well, enough about my furdevil, I mean furbaby. I'm gonna take a pain pill and go to bed. Hope everyone has a great day. Teresa

Hi Teres,
Have you taken said fur devil (er baby) for training classes?  Might be a good option.  PetSmart and other stores offer them, I think they run about $100 for 6 weeks.  There is always Bark Busters too that has a lifetime guaruntee, they will come to your house and work with you and your dog.  Either way, it is a lot of work for you/your family and dog to get them trained.  Good Luck!
