Aloha cutie Cheryl..........Thanks for your excitement! I am so grateful.......I can't get over how much better this is than I imagined. Not Gawgis.......far from it......but better than 2 and a half years ago, that's for sure!!

HUGS to you!

Welcome home MK! Wow, one drain. That is wonderful. Should be very manageable. One more thing to look forward to being gone. When it is, it will truly help you realize how much you have gotten rid of. No more forcing all that loose skin in and around underwear, pants, shirts. It makes such a difference. Rest, eat, drink, good drugs = healing. Hugs, KK  PS I believe you were showing up at my door on Maui about this time last year. Sigh. . . . Sweet dreams my friend.

Aloha my dear special Karen!! I can't believe it was a whole year ago that you were here! Where does the time go????

One drain isn't bad at all....just gets in the way, but I'm learning how to tuck it under things and not be afraid of it. When I look at my belly with the binder off, it really is FLAT! I have a funny looking new belly button that looks like it was stenciled on, but my nurse friend says it will look real one of these days.

I will heed your words of "rest, eat, drink, good drugs." I am not good about those things when I feel good....but know that I can set myself back if I don't pay attention and do what I'm told.

You can easily remember the view I'm seeing right now.........sun just beginning to turn Haleakela dark with a glow behind it....the ocean calm as glass, and nary a cloud anywhere. It's going to be a blinding sunrise in about 20 minutes! I already have all the doors/windows wide open and deeply breathing in that fresh, sweet air.

You will be back.....I will be happy when you are!!

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

So pleased to hear you're doing well.  Now that you're a lady of leisure (for a few weeks, at least) I hope we'll be seeing you on the board more.  I absolutely BASK in your descriptions of your wonderful home.

It's 20 degrees here now, wind chill is below zero, we have 2 feet of snow on the ground, and it continues to snow.

If you REALLY need some help, I could MAYbe manage to.....

No, guess not.  I'm so glad you have a friend to help you.

Stay well.

Aloha my adorable little Candy Cane girl!

Thanks for your words of comfort and encouragement. It is 6:40 a.m. and the sun is not yet up here.....but oh it is going to be a glorious sunrise. The palm trees are absolutely still......and with all the windows and doors wide open, it feels perfect....cool, but warm enough to just be in a light nightgown (which is what I'm staying in all day).

You were Janet's angel after her surgery, and I am so blessed to also have a couple of angels. One, who will be here any minute to help me shower, is amazing! She knows about things like hanging the drain from a string around my neck during shower, and putting gauze over belly button before putting on that armor of a binder!! I should probably have the binder tighter actually.....but not sure what it's doing except keeping my insides from falling out....Ha!

Thanks for coming in and sharing............you are a wonderful "angel."

ALoha my friend from Florida.........we are so far apart, but I feel so close actually. Amazing, huh!

Thanks for your warm wishes...........I feel very much loved and supported through this latest surgery, and just know that all is going to turn out good. I only hope I can help others as much as you all have helped me!
