Butterjoy,

I'm not Karen but I just had my LBL.  I had surgery 11/23/04.  I probably could have done this two years ago. What they look for is that you be at maintenance and your weight to have stabilized for at least 6 mo. with no movement.  I had been at the same weight for over 2 years.

Aloha Joy........I am two years and four months out from surgery, but have been at goal for probably 8 months. My surgeon said it is the ideal way to do it........have all your excess weight gone and then have a "tune up." Well my tummy is tuned up, but my boobs, legs, arms, face, etc. still are without being "tuned." Don't care....happy about having this procedure done and someday I may have the girls given a boost just so they don't look so pathetic....Ha!

And, at the moment I do feel fastastic!! Blows my mind....I thought I'd be a wreck on he 3rd day out from surgery.

Aloha nui loa,

I am so happy that you are home and happy, big sister Karen. I have kept you in prayers and know that God will continue to watch over you.

It sounds like things went well, and with the help of your wonderful friend they are just going to continue to go up.

You were one beautiful woman before and I have no doubt that you will be simply gorgeous now.

I am sending much love and plenty of soft gentle hugs (at least until you are healed then they go back to big hearty ones!) to you and please know that you are much loved.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Aloha gentle Brenda...and thank you for the prayers and sweet, soothing words. I give credit to all of you and the Big Kahuna for making this a very easy procedure with very little pain so far. The worst thing I experienced was a day of nausea when food looked terrible to me. They brought me nice good.....one day chicken & noodles with fresh veggies, and another day, turkey dinner......mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, etc. I didn't eat a bite....just some fruit on the side. Glad the nausea is gone, and now I"m back to eating again!

I'll happily take those hugs.....they will keep me happy while my body heals and gets rid of this excess "stuff" in the drains. Will be nice when they are gone. But I'm NOT complaining!!

HUGS back!!

It does my heart good to see you posting again, Karen!

I'm so glad to know your surgery went so well and you are back in your beautiful corner of the world.  I knew you would do amazingly well and am so glad to hear how it went.

I'm 6 months (yesterday) into my surgery and so love following the progress of those who have gone before me.  You are an inspiration.

Take care of yourself and the rest will come.  Looking forward to hearing how your progress!

Hugs,

Kathi

Aw, KathiKins.....it is so good seeing YOU on here!! This is like old home week and I feel so loved and supported.

I'm such a big wuss about things....and even with all the input I had from my friends who had gone before (Janet, Karen, Susan, etc) I was afraid. As usual I should have listened and BELIEVED!! I am doing so much better than I imagined. I can even sleep easily in my own bed, on my side or on my back, and getting on and off the toilet is a piece of cake.

Thanks so much for coming in and sharing your happy words with me!

HUGS!

Thank goodness you're finally home where you belong....with US!  You know we've all been patiently waiting, hoping all was well. So glad to hear you sounding so energetic.  Please take it easy and be gentle with yourself.
How nice that you have such good friends to help you out. Be careful though, we'll get jealous!! LOL

Gentle hugs

Aloha my sweet sister.......I'm always filled with hope and encouragement when I see your words of wisdom in here. I will take it easy, and must keep reminding myself because I actually feel like I could do laundry, vacuum, etc....but I KNOW better. My friend is coming again this morning to help me shower.....I think this will be the last time. After than I think I'll be able to do it myself, and know how to put on binder with pads etc. Janet has given me such good tips on making the binder less irritating.

Another friend came over yesterday with THREE more binders!! She had used them after her lower body lift and no longer needed them. That took care of the problem of what was I going to do while laundering this one.

Thanks, dear heart for you always loving and helpful words. Long arms coming across the ocean to hug you.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Karen.....I see that so many others before me have wished you "Welcome Home" but I, too would like to say that I've been thinking of you and wondering how you were doing after your surgery.  So across the ocean and many more miles to boot...
GLAD TO HEAR YOU ARE DOING OKAY!!!

Gentle Hugs,
Sandy
