so we go to mc d's to meet a freecycler last nite and went in for supper-i know-not a very wls friendly place but it's cheap..... the young lady at the counter was so excited! they were giving away free latte's ( a $2.30 value) for sampling--i insisted mine had to be sf--and it was....almost half way thru i realized- stupid girl (me i mean!!!) the creamer is like a gazillion grams of high fructose corn syrup--so even tho the darned thing was sf--you guessed it--i dumped...oh man it's hard to walk thru hobby lobby when you feel wooozy......then i had to go to krogers and oh man.....
i slept it off in the car on the way home from findlay ( i normally do NOT let michael drive)

so-ok-you are asking why i am making a whole post about this--it's not for me to get the attention--tho it maybe made ya look! it's more to say don't get complacent thinking sf is safe--if you dump--watch out for hidden factors---

i knew better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Boy,do I understand!! I had a suspicious coffee at Starbucks when I met Jan S.
Thankfully, it only took 3 sips for me to know it "didn't taste right".
Jan encouraged me to tra****and I am glad.

Yikes Margo,

Thanks for the warning - really.  I'm sorry you had that experience.  I'm glad you hadn't paid money for the experience to make it even worse.  Hope you're much better today.

Hugs,

Kathi

Sneeks up on you doesn't it. When they first came out I thought yippee, but also being McD's I Looked up the calorie etc infor, over 400 calories for one of those suckers. I have a favorite drive through coffee place all last year I had douple shot mocha Sf , skinny ( thats FF milk)  smoothy. they were lucious. One day my favorite gal wasn't busy so I asked her what the calories in the SF powder she used in them. the drink ended up being over 400 calories!! I was drinking 2 or 3 a week. Sf- skinny my A$$. I don't dump ( saddly ) on sugar so we really have to be careful. Now I drink just Sf/ skinny cappacinos.

It's one of the reasons I get my coffee black with SF flavors. No calories in there and no chance of getting anything else. They keep asking me at Starbucks if I want these fancy things and I keep saying no, I don't drink my calories (other than my AchievOnes, which have protein, so they're OK, and my two beers a week).

Now, that said, I did have a Starbucks SF frappuccino light a couple of times and it was good, but I didn't have the whipped cream, so it held down the calories. I also had a SF, FF white chocolate mocha at a little coffee house in Hudsonville and it was wonderful ... but I watched them make it so I knew what they put it in. It was a small, so it was something for a special treat. Yummy, by the way, but not something I'm going to have every day.

I'm not saying I'm perfect, because I sure like my Ben & Jerry's waffle cone ice cream and sometimes I eat way too much of that and boy, does that make me miserable ... so I know how you feel, Margo. But you sure weren't expecting it from the latte, I know.
