Margo, do you use something to do these caps and scarves? I use to crochet but somehow the scarves that I did always ended up looking like Christmas trees for some reason. Yes, I even counted the stitches and they still ended up like that. If you use a little machine what is it and where do you get one? That sounds like the perfect thing to do while the winter is long and dark.

And........I can't remember if I thanked you for the great cards that you sent with Carla and Paulette from the get together in Michigan. Yes...they do wonderful for my ministry to the nursing home and shut ins and such. Thanks again and I think of you (with love naturally) every time I see them.

brenda...i was taught to knit at about age 10 and love it-however- for some reason these last few years of stress have caused a creative block and i could not even cast on!!!i wanted to get involved in these caps for a cure and they want prefarebly no seams etc to hurt the patient's heads- well- double pointed needles scared the crud outta me- so--i found the knifty knitter loom set--it's like the old potholder looms we used as kids- or the wooden bobbin with nails on top--i use the different sized looms for hats for "caps" as well as what i am doing for my grands , my mother and nephew for Christmas--there are also rectangular looms that i am using for the scarves. these looms are what paulettr bought after i showed the gals some hats in frankenmuth...she's got at least 6 hats done by now!

go to walmart in the craft section- or michael's craft store- ( i don't care for the quality of the ones at hobby lobby--different plastic) --anyhow- the knifty knitters are a set or individual- the set was about 15.00--maybe i got mine at michael's with a 40% coupon--anyhow- they come with a "tool"similar but different than you use for rug hooking- and the hats are simple--and tehre are some basoic booklets for about $1.00--there are three thati know of and some expensive craft books as well written to show other stitches--on my wish list!!!

i am going to hopefully buy self the newest purple loom at joann fabrics next week when we get soc sec money--it has a smaller gauge so you can use only 1 strand of yarn-it is only for adult sized heads...otherwise you use two strands- i have made some very fun hats--

i think baby whozit--sorry-baby caleb- needs a few gamma knit hats!!! the smallest loom would work for that!

there are some online yahoo groups who offer advice etc...
and then the caps for a cure group that i send hats to every few months...it's fun and it's gratifying and it keeps me from munching!!!!

Margo, thanks for the info and I am going to look into them. They sound fun.

I agree that Baby Caleb needs a couple of Grammy hats. He will look stunning in them with no doubt! Oops! He will look handsome and not stunning!

So happy you can use it!  After going through it to box it up I remembered how much I enjoy knitting, and must try to at least finish the two projects I started for myself.

Hugs and love,

Susan
