I am more of a lurker than poster, sorry for that. I do read most of your posts and I am inspired and uplifted by so many of you. You are helping me  even though I don't tell you.

I have lost thirty pounds. At four weeks I am not complaining. I know some people lose faster and thats ok. I never expected to lose this much this soon. I will be happy when I make it to onederland which is only 9 lbs away. I am hoping by christmas to make that goal.

I had a rocky start with the pnuemonia but I have bounced back . I cannot say I have lots of energy but I am not struggling to move anymore.I am on my way .

Its great to be able to add some real food to my diet. So far so good on the ones I have tried. I still have to stop myself from drinking fast, sipping is hard for me and sipping makes it hard to get enough water in. I am working on it.

I just wanted to say thanks to all of you and an early Merry Christmas.

CONGRATS!!!!! 30 pounds is wonderful!!! remember NOT to compare your weightloss to what others have lost...and stay OFF the scale...makes you worry for nothing when it doesn't move!!! just keep doing what you are doing and you will be having WOW moments soon enough!!!

glad that you are doing well after the pneumonia!! it takes time to get your strength back after being so sick on top of having WLS or any surgery for that matter!!!

so with that all being said...stop being a lurker and post more often with us!!! we don't bite...lol

merry christmas to you also!!!

hugs

Congratulations on your loss!!! It's hard for me to imagine losing 30# in one month. My surgery is this coming Wed. Be sure to post when you hit Onederland....We'll celebrate with you!
My nut gave me a good clue into finding out how much your pouch will tolerate...she said to measure out some water, sip till your pouch feels full then check how much you drank to get it there....she says that will be your limit for food as well. This time next wk I'll be one day post op! To have the feeling of not struggling to move anymore will be worth it for me. I work hard but once I get home I have trouble moving at all.
Best to you on your journey to Onederland!

Congratulations and I am Jealous.!

I am 4 weeks out too and believe me I am jealous.  I got weighed before surgery and gained 12 lbs after from all the water.  No way did I come close to loosing  30 LBS.    I wasnt a heavy weight to begin with , but  still makes me wonder what I am doing wrong.

I am walking  1 1/2 - 2 miles every day.  I am not eating more than a 1/2 cup at a meal. I guess I will slow looser.

Don't think in terms of what  you are doing "wrong".  My weight came off slowly and I was doing everything I was suppose to.  Even if the weight stalls your body is adjusting to the changes....  major changes... in the way it functions.  The first few months the body is still trying to get back to normal... and normal has changed...

If you are not doing what the DR and NUT have told you then concentrate on what needs to be changed....  not on what is wrong.  It is a learning curve for all of us.  Before we didn't care what we put in our mouth.  Now we do and those old habits need to be changed.

This is self talk to myself too.  I've not lost the weight I should have for as far out as I am.  I'm content with the loss and goal is not a priority to me...  I need to rethink what I'm doing.

Keep following the guidelines and we will see less of you.

You are certainly on your way girl! Keep doing what you are doing and like Judy said~don't get on the scale to much. It can be your friend but sometimes it isn't. We at times get to thinking bigger thoughts than our body can do.

Your doing well and the drinking is going to get easier as the time goes on. Life will continue to do some changing and then it just becomes a normal life. Maybe different from before but normal for you now. Well~I hope you understand what I am working so hard to say. Sometimes the words just don't come out right~even if they are with my fingers instead of my mouth. And just think~I speak sign language because of the deafness of my relatives. I feel sorry for them now that I am thinking of it. ha ha

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

30 pounds is a great start....good for you!!

Never compare yourself with other. Everyone loses at a different rate. Keep following the plan your doctor has given you and you will continue to melt before our eyes!!

Hi, Susie:

Sounds like you are doing very well! Glad you have recovered from the pneumonia.  Be careful and take care of yourself.  Real food will taste good, but be careful and chew chew chew.

Don't be a stranger.
