MY FIRST QUESTION -WHAT ARE SOME GOOD EASY BREAKFAST IDEAS.NOT EGGS OR ANYTHING TOO SWEET. MY TASTE DID CHANGE. MILK PROTEIN POWDER AND FRUIT ARE OK. I POSTED ON THE EXERCISE BOARD ABOUT MY DILEMMA FOR EXERCISE. I REALLY DO HATE IT BUT I COMMITTED TO 1 WEEK OF WALKING AROUND THE HOUSE(OUTSIDE). I AM 66 AND HAVE NEVER LIKED MOVING OR SPORTS. SO PLEASE I NEED MORE IDEAS. I KNOW AGE IS NOT AN EXCUSE FOR NOT DOING SOMETHING BUT IT WORKS IN MY BRAIN MOST OF THE TIME.

Hi, Rosalie:

I have cottage cheese and fuuit, instant oatmeal, and eggs and then start over again.  Not too exciting but it gets me through.

I am doing my tread mill now that the weather is so cold.   I do best if I do it in the early morning.

I would love to do water aerobics if I lived close to a YMCA but I don't.  There is a little exercise gym in this little town and I am going to get a key and join it after the first of the year.  Also am going to start beginning yoga as soon as they get a class formed at the yoga studio here in town.

Are any of the area churches offering aerobics???

Keep moving and eating well and you will do fine.

Well, cheese is always good. Some people like yogurt, but I find it too sweet. I like these turkey rollups for just about anything. Take some cream cheese, let it soften, add shredded cheddar cheese, chives and bacon, put it all in a food processor ... take that mixture and spread it on a slice of deli turkey or ham (get decent thickness or they won't work well). Roll them up, cut 'em in third or half. I put them in the frig, but you can freeze them and take out what you need daily the night before too. They're great for a snack, lunch, just about anything ... all protein. Really tasty.

As for exercise, what about a recumbent bike? If you don't have room in your house, you can get a small one that you can put under a table (they sell them on QVC and other places). You can just sit at a regular chair and exercise. It's not a lot, but every little bit helps. Or, do you have access to a pool? Water exercise is great, even if you can't swim, you can water walk or get involved in water aerobics.

Hi Rosalie. I am 67 and 14 month post-op RNY. I walk 3-7 miles a day and if I feel good I slow jog some. We also do aerobics, and do free weights 3 times a week and I hate every minute of it. I don't mind doing them I just hate not having the engery for any thing else or maybe it is an excuse not to do house work. My hubby of 47 years is the reason I exercise. He has always belived in exercising. I would never do it until he retired and kept me going.
Just start doing a little bit at a time and add on a minute or 2 each day or even every other day and pretty soon you are doing a mile. Take care and don't over do and get sore.      Birdy
