The dog is beautiful, George, and it's so good of you to adopt one of these magnificent creatures. It's so sad that people use these dogs to race and make money.
We had a story in our paper this week (two stories actually) of a young man who tried to kill a Lab by hanging it in a tree and then beating it ... he failed because someone saw him and stopped him. He is now facing possible felony charges of animal abuse. (they were misdemeanor, but the outcry is so huge the charges may be upgraded.)

My wife and mother-in-law are doing the same walmart shopping... gonna grab some jeans!
Me?.... just being a supportive kinda guy.... we were up late and I thought it was so cool she actually got up and headed out into the rainy morning like she said she would!
Sitting here watching House reruns and wondering what am I doing awake at this hour!

In my eyes, House was a good show, but I think it has run it's course. It's just getting too out there. So much so that I stopped DVRing the show this season.
I DVR alot of shows. Most of them I watch during the week. This year though, I am having a hard time catching up. I still have 10 episodes of Bones to watch. The rest of the shows I am no more than 2 weeks behind.

Good Morning Debbie and All,
It's warm here this morning---20 degrees. It's suppose to be a beautiful sunshiny day today.
Well, I made it through Thanksgiving---Ate alot. It will be my "last" Thanksgiving where I can pig out---and I did. We had dinner with Grandma who is 104 and sharp as a tac. Supper was cooked by me and then bought over to my ex sister-in-law's. We were treated to a slide show of her trip to Germany. Because I ate too much my blood sugars went ski high tonight---but it was worth it. I'll catch up today. All through supper I was thinking about a year from now and how much is going to change after my surgery. My back hurt so bad today from trying to stand and cook that I almost called off supper. Next year I hope to be walking again with little pain and a whole lot more energy for cooking a big meal. I dream about a year from now all the time.
Next year I want to be able to go to St. Cloud and see my favorite house band play. They are called the Canoise and I have known them for over 42 years---they get together a few times a year to play the oldies but goodies and good memories just come rushing back. That's where I want to be one year from now---dancing the night away.
Well, I am going to try and get some sleep. Prayers are going out to those in need of them and I hope everybody has a great day

The Canoise play Thanksgiving weekend every year at the Holiday Inn. They are playing this weekend. If you get a chance go see them---they are really good! I would love to meet up with you next year. That would really be exciting. They play in July too but I don't think I would be ready to go yet then---but maybe.
