Gobble Gobble! What's New Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Just got off the phone with Carla ... wasn't really going to start the thread and decided, oh, why not? Then came into the computer room and Diva has struck again. Even with the expensive prescription cat food, she's pooped on the cat tower. So much for that remedy! I think the only remedy is is to keep her out of the front bedroom. She has some problem and won't do in the litter box. That's the poop there! I'll give this pricey cat food until Monday, but if I don't see any improvement, it's going back.

Early deadlines tonight, so I was home early. Because I was in early, found out interesting stuff about my coworkers and their meetings with the boss ... some were pushed to take the buyout or face the consequences; some I knew would be, but others I was kind of surprised about, including my former night coworker, who has been given a lot more responsibility lately. Wow ... wasn't expecting her to be in trouble, and neither was she, because she was very calm over all this.

Well, I need to get away from the computer and get to bed or get my legs up ... knee is really bothering me. Have a good turkey day ... I'll be working later today again, but the rewards are great ... triple time! Gotta love that.

Was just ready to head for bed when I wondered if any started a thread for today.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Eileen I can sympathize with you about your cat situation.  We (my kids were both home) were talking tonight about the animals we had in the past and all the stuff they did and how we still loved them.
I hope you job is safe. It is a scary time right now with the work situation.  I am not sure if mine is safe but will try to keep a positive outlook.  I am kicking myself for not going back to Cabellas part time.  I had worked for them in the past over the holidays for extra money.
I should get to bed , have to be up at 6 to cook my sweet potato casserole for dinner.  We are going to my niece's she lives about 140 miles from us.  Will be fun for sure.  7 of my sister's kids will be there with their families.   My daughter has to work but as I tell her be thankful you have a job.

Happy Thanksgiving all.  Going home in 3 hours to start the turkey.  Then have to carve it to bring to my daughter's house.  Pray for my family as we get together today, as there are issues on the table right now.  Thanks, I appreciate all of you.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my OFF friends!

Actually slept until 6 a.m. this morning.....need to make the orange chiffon sf/ff pie so it will set up nicely...made the cranberry conserve yesterday afternoon and it turned out terrific using splenda.  I am invited to my sister's home in Indiana (about 20 miles away) my brother Steve (my traveling buddy) will be there too and maybe my sister's one daughter and family.   Went to church last evening ..... very small attendance .....only 25 people showed up.....there is another service this morning at 9 which will hopefully have more people.

We have cold this morning ..... high 20's.....but no snow.

Got an e-mail from DIL....they arrived safely in Mexico.
SHe said they are taking lots of pics and will check back in later.....they had a good flight down.

Talked to Debbie Owen from Cedar Spgs, MI last evening....was worried we hadn't heard from her in quite a long time.   She said she's just been really busy.
She has a new grand baby just two wks old.  Her 3 mo checkup was yesterday and she got a good report.
Told her not to be a stranger on here....we miss all our
friends.

Well better get that pie going.  Hope everyone has a wonderful day giving thanks for all the many blessings we have now and have enjoyed this past year.  Praise God for his faithfulness.  Stay safe if you are traveling and enjoy your families and friends.

Love and hugs,
Pat R.

Good Morning, All,

And Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm headed out to work, but I had a minute and decided to check the board.  I see I'm not the only one up early, OR the only one working today.  My choice; I'd rather be off at Christmas when my kids are home.

I did a little Christmas shopping yesterday with a friens, and we stopped for dinner at a nice local restaurant.  My DEELICIOUS chicken/asparagus dinner came with salad and homemade soup bar, as well as unlimited garlic breadsticks.  I ate a small salad, the meat out of the Italian Wedding soup, and a few bites of the main course.  Grabbed a few extra breadsticks at the end of the meal, and packaged it all up, looking forward to a great lunch and dinner today, since I'm working and have no dinner plans.

Yup, you guessed it! I left the damn box on the table.  I do that all the time!  So, my wonderful "three meals for $16", turned into a little lettuce, some tiny meatballs, 1/2 breakstick and a few bites of chicken.  I was so upset with myself.  Not just for the waste of money, but for the loss of a delicious couple of meals that I didn't have to cook.

If it wasn't so far away I would have gone back.  I know I couldn't retreive my "plan-aheads", but I would have ordered another meal, just to have it today!
I'm getting bored with the same things over and over.  I've got to make a change, or the grazing and pounds will start creeping back.

So, it's probably good that I have no dinner plans.  I think I'll start organizing my Christmas stuff and maybe start wrapping.

I had some really good news yesterday, and nothing can make me down today.  The glass is definitely at least half full.  Overflowing, in fact!

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and everyone makes excellent choices.

As I posted earleir our Thanksgiving dinner has been postponed.  Our son and his family were supposed to be home yesterday from their annual hunting trip to WV.  He called yesterday to say it was snowing heavily and they would wait to leave until later today after the snow stops and the roads have been sanded.  It is an 8 or 9 hour drive in good conditions.  Of course, we want them here safely, and we have nothing that can't be prepared tomorrow.

Today is our 43rd anniversary, so whatever we do, we will be together and thankful for all of our years together.

This is my Momma's first holiday without Dad, so I'm sure we'll be on the phone a few times with tears in our eyes.  She has lots of good friends in the retirement place she lives.  But they can't be there with her in her big empty apartment 24/7.  I am thankful Dad is now pain free but it is very hard for all of us to remember all the past holidays.

I hope all of you have a spectacular Thanksgiving.  No matter where you are in your weight loss journey, be mindful of what you put in your mouth!
