Has anyone worked with the powdered food colorings? I need to color some white chocolate and was wondering how they were to work with?? any hints or tricks or tips?

 Darlene,
I find the gel food colors better to work with.  If using the powder try adding to a small amount of chocolate first to get a smooth consistency then add to the rest of the batch.  Depending on what you are doing you could melt just a small portion of chocolate then color it.  melt the rest and add the colored chocolate to the larger amount.  This way your chocolate does not set up or separate while playing with the coloring.

Good Luck...

I can't melt the big portion of chocolate and color it? I'm making xmas tree cut outs for my decorations and I want to color them green and have some swirls in some...maybe I'll just for it.......lol

Yes, you can melt the large  portion of chocolate....

My concern was the the powder getting mixed in well without lumps  etc.  sounds like a fun project.   Let me know how it turns out.

PS  you can do whatever you like...  lol lol  go for it.
