Hello have not stopped by for a while, had surgery on 9-10-08, went back to work 8 days later, just going through the motions one day at a time. i have lost about 50 lbs, happy but not thrilled. I am pretty much back to normal bodily functions now first 6 weeks where pretty rough, not sure what changed but glad it did. How is everyone else doing?

Not thrilled ???  gurl, that is a lot of weight in the last few months.  I don't know what  you had in mind but gosh, that is good.  Be ready for your plateau too.  Your body just had a major upset and needs time to adjust and self heal.

I've hit more than a plateau or stall.  I've settled in to a comfortable eating style but am not losing weight.  I need to jump start my eating plan again.

Take care and enjoy your new body.

What are you not thrilled about? when in your life did you ever lose that much weight in that short of time? when in your life did you ever increase your health that much in such a short time?

Are you disappointed? what were your expectations? Sorry to sound so rough but holy kow your doing good and why not happy?

Well I lost 20 lbs before surgery, (dr says you gain it all back at surgery because of the IV's re hydrating you) Any way I plateau at 276 for almost 4 weeks and had a terrible time with constipation, Finally my body seems to have adjusted in the last week and I have starting losing weight again. I was getting really down and wondering if that was all I was going to lose. I am still a little tired and to be honest do not exercise as much as I should but the truth is you can not eat as much as you used to and I do feel better (Since I got rid of the constipation ) I am still on my insulin, and BP meds no regrets I just pray I lose some more weight. I just know this surgery has given me a new chance on life really!!! I just thought 2 months out (after loosing 20 before ) I would be down more like 70. Okay my expectations where a little high. My less than thrilled is my own fault.   If you have medical issues DO NOT HESITATE IT WILL HELP, maybe not a quick fix and anyone that says this is the easy way out is a LIAR!!!!!   May God bless you all !!!!!!
