FOUR YEARS....TIME FLIES...

Time flies when you are having fun!!  Four years ago today I had an open RNY....I remember thinking LATER in the hospital, what the heck did I doooooo???

I was in the hospital for five days and came home to one-ounce cups.  I had no energy, couldn't BUY energy....

In the four years since my surgery, I've traveled without extenders, shopped til I've dropped, made new friends and managed to keep most of my old ones; met incredible people in this journey; ridden mechanical bulls; enjoyed NASCAR tailgating; parasailed; laid on the beach in Playa; cruised to Honduras; had an incredible Thelma and Louise vacation and got to meet Jan S, Kathikins, Peg in Red, Debi, and Julia and saw all of God's glory traveling up the Pacific Coast Highway with my sister from another mother; got to surprise my Sistahs at the Palooza; got in on the gas-lease bandwagon before it busted and got my lower body lift.  Wow moments indeed.

So to all that are there with me and those coming up behind me and to all that have gone before me.... Thank you for the opportunities to share a great experience.

Linda, life certainly has its challenges, as you know, but you are always upbeat despite yours.

Don't you think that attitude pulls you through the knothole to the better side?  I run from adversity, bickering, etc.  I guess I watched Pollyanna way too many times.... loved those crystals.

Took me many years to learn the lessons I was being taught.  I'm a slow learner.  The only thing I worry about now and it's not really a worry, is that I need to live 64 more years and enjoy them as I'm enjoying life right now.  Everyday is a new day.

Speaking of which... I'm heading for $4 to read the paper.. it's not always about the coffee...:)

Jan,I try to stay positive,it is a wonderful tool, and smiling causes less wrinkles..LOL.
You are so right about it not being about the coffee, the structure, the happiness I have now,I never thought could be.
God has gifted me with people like you.
You are so honest,out spoken,non preachy.so REAL.
Enjoy your day!

Janet, and Linda,     I certainly identify with your thoughts on staying upbeat in spite of adversity.    After my divorce...  I adopted a life Motto :  Life is too serious not to laugh.   I know in my own life people have since thought I don't take life serious but oh I do..   Yes, I do.  That is why I love lots and laugh more.  No, I'm not naive like people think.  I chose to be happy and outgoing.   Yes, I can be serious when need be but I chose to see humor and love in all situations.

All this said, I enjoy reading both your threads when you post.  I like hearing the joy in your thoughts.  Reading about my OFF family each day gives me a sense of community.  Thank you both for being you..  real people.

Millie,I love the fact that Janet does not try to pass herself off as perfect. She shares the good the bad and the ugly.
The most wonderful things are people like you. How many places can we go and just be ourselves.
This forum has saved my life, honestly.
It helps me to remember that we are human, and how important it is to laugh, and to accept ourselves and each other.
OFF rocks,OH rocks!! When I first came here,I was ashamed to say how large I was,476 pounds..OMG. I came to realize that the "light weights" had every bit as much pain as I.I wish I could say that was my top weight, but it was not. Steroids had  to do with some of it,but not all...
Hugs and sweet dreams.

Millie,

I told my kids that I wanted "she laughed" on my tombstone.  Realizing, of course, that I don't all the time.  I have my days like most people.  I have a real estate license which allows me to be the *****iest, baddest woman around until I walk out the door... and when the door is shut and I'm on the other side...

You just can't let'em see you sweat.

Janet, Linda, Millie, and all you wonderful people on this OFF board!
I enjoy your posts, too and can't wait to see what everyone is doing.  I must second the idea of love and laughter.  Life is hard at times, but the friendships and love get us thru the *knothole* as Janet said.  LOL

Thank you all for the experiences you have shared and the friendships that are formed here.
