What's new Friday? I'm NEVER up this time of day!

Work schedule is out of whack today due to Joey's Vet appointment. I am feeling apprehensive about the results of the exam.

All this talk of Christmas shopping, and  I haven't done a darned thing. Christmas was always a favorite holiday for Mom. Since she is gone, I haven't had ANY holiday spirit. Don't want a tree, decorations can sit in the boxes, detest shopping, just an old Scrooge.

Everything I begin to write is negative. With that, I'd better stop. I need a swift kick in the butt and get an attitude adjustment.

Hi everyone.  It's cold here too.  I think that I heard on the radio that it's -6 degrees Celsius.  I don't know what that is in Fahrenheit anymore.  The weather used to be in Fahrenheit, but it was changed to metric years ago and I think that I'm finally used to it.
My outdoor flowers  -  begonias and some vines  -  held on until earlier this week when the frost finally took them.  It was nice to see flowers on my front porch in November.  I don't even have the leaves picked up yet and there is a little bit of snow on them.  I'm behind  -  I just have to find someone to hire to do all of the jobs that I hate!!
I am finishing marking lots and lots of essays this morning.  I procrastinated and I am now left with a rush to get everything done.  When will I ever learn that it's better to get it over with rather than letting things go?  I guess never!
Have a good day and a great weekend.  I'm not doing much this weekend except for marking.  The semester is quickly coming to an end, so I will be up to my neck in work for a while, and then it's Christmas break.  Yea!!     Margaret
My pcp has my application for the vsg surgery.  He is looking it over before he signs it.  He needs to hurry up because I am so tired of carrying around this weight.  I think that it feels worse to me now that I am this fat than before I started to read how people felt to finally have the weight off  -  if you know what I mean.  I can't wait for the feeling of being lighter.  It's gotta happen soon.

It is a beautiful 8 degrees this morning, up from 5 degrees earlier....wooohoooo...a high today of 26!!!! I am so glad my car is in the garage, at least I won't have to scrape windows when I leave.

I need to run a few errands...groceries....gas in the car...Thanksgiving Day cards.....yada yada!!

I need to ask for prayers for my boyfriend's brother Jeff. They found out yesterday he has liver cancer....he is only 51 years old. I am also asking for prayers once again for Nic...this has been a hard chemo week for him.

I need to get my bootie in gear and get some more Christmas shopping done. My grandchildren are slow getting their lists to me this year. I have given them until Sunday to get them to me or they will not have a choice of what I get them. They said I will have the lists on time....we will see!! I told Nic he will be getting Barbie Dolls...that made him laugh!!

I best get on my way. Prayers as always to those in need.

Hi, weather here is about the same as Connie's...with windchill of 2. Sun is shining tho so there is hope.
Today I have my first of two pre-op appts. I think they will be just labs. I due for another thyroid check so I'm going to request they just take another tube. I have to be NPO for 4 hrs before the appt.
Went to my 2nd support mtg last eve...glad I went. Bigger turnout this time. The psych led the mtg and we discussed alot of issues from pre-ops to 1yr post-op.
One lady is battling an ulcer and may have to have surgery to correct it. She admitted she did it to herself and the reason for the ulcer was smoking. The "team" at our clinic is going to start a buddy system...once you are over the initial big loss, about 8 months to a year out, people are having trouble staying on track...so with a buddy to call in times of need they feel it may be the support people need. Sounds good to me...like OFF only closer. The next mtg is a wk after my surgery so don't know if I'll make that one but if I'm feeling well enough I'm going to try. We had different age groups, different stages of the wls process with alot of different issues.
One lady had alot of stress and gained some wt back, she made a call to the clinic and they suggested a more intense exercise program...she didn't lose much in pounds the first month but changed about 25# from fat to muscle meaning she can burn calories more efficiently now. She was very pleased.

Hi Sweeties......very busy, but needed to check up on you all....and decided I would say "hi".

Getting all my house ready for Thanksgiving. Sarah, Kyle and the babies will arrive tomorrow. Sean and Aimee & babies on Tuesday.

Please say a prayer for my Kathleen....she is having so much more problems with her MS ....her NEW Doctor said that having 5 exacerbations in her first year was BAD. [That's an  episode that causes a worsening in her MS, causing another lesion.] This one is another in her brain, she now has 7 in her brain alone and many many down her spine. Yet, she never complains....and continues to "do it all". I had to make a huge bargain with her to take a nap everyday....she just still thinks she is the Energizer Bunny.

I must run to list a LAKE HOUSE....yikes! Does he realize this is not the optimum time to list a home on the lake....let alone in this economy....yet that is probably why he is selling it.....I just hope he will be reasonable in pricing it.

Big meeting here in my office again, Director with my boss..blaa blaa blaa. Got 95% of Christmas shopping done yesterday. So now I can work on the things I am making. I also have each Friday  in Dec off and the week between Christmas and New Years. So I hope to relax and do some baking. I LOVE to do it if I am not rushed.
 I am sad, My daughter-in-laws grandfather died, and she is taking Faith and Zach( my grand sweeties) to Ohio for the funeral. Faith is 15,lives with her dad( my son)  and doesn't like her mom much. She was very angry that she had to go with her mom. She is mad that the only time  they go is if it is a death. I told her it will be so nice to spend time with relatives she hasn't  seen in a while. Her Mom has told the relatives such fairy tales ( She has told them that she works for the federal government, in reality she is a dispatcher for a cab company) She blames my son for every bad thing in her life. Faith KNOWS the truth and hates to hear her Mom put down her dad. Anyway Faith stopped over to my house this morning before I was up and  left me the sweetest note . I hate to be selfish but I hope her mother doesn't decide to stay there for Thanksgiving. Faith is my cooking buddy and we have all this baking planned and she was going to spend a couple of nights before Thansgiving. Her Mom is such a flake ( we are heading the word "Meth"mentioned in connection with her) I worry about the kids traveling . Faith has a phone, Thank-God. Have a great week-end all. Blessings

Hi Cara and my OFF family:

Boy, lots of people posting ... couldn't get through them all and some of them were in really tiny type so I couldn't them, even with my bifocals.

Cara, I was up at 2:30 too ... I was finishing my book, called "The Secret Bride." It was about Henry VIII's sister, Mary, who was given in marriage to the old king of France, even though she was in love with Henry's best friend, Charles Brandon, the Duke of Suffolk ... when the king of France died, Mary and Charles married secretly, and that really pissed Henry off, but eventually he forgave them. It was a really good book ... I have really been into English history, especially that period and right before it. 

Right before that, I was in the bathroom and Diva was licking water off the floor behind the toilet ... my early warning system of something wrong. Great, another problem. I called Handyman Larry this afternoon and he's coming over tomorrow. I hope there's not a slow leak again like last time. That cost me so much, and I just don't have the money for it.

Plus, last night and this morning I found big piles of diarrheal poop in the hallway and by the cat tower. I think it really might be Diva doing, because while I was sitting here, she had a really running bowel movement in the litter box. So I don't know what to do. I already took her to the vet, and he said she was fine. I'm sick of cleaning up all this ... it doesn't clean up very well.

Today I have my big meeting with the "big guy" ... my executive editor. Wish me luck!

Went to the chiropractor this morning and then to pick up a few things at the store ... going to make some cranberry bread to go with my turkey dinner on Sunday. The chiropractor said I had a lot of stuff out of whack ... hips, elbow, thumb ... he did a lot of adjusting today.

When I went to fill up the car with gas ($1.79 a gallon now) ... it was snowing a lot, but now it's stopped. We're getting lake effect snow but it's not as bad as it is closer to the lake.

Well, I need to get some lunch. Have a good day.

e--try giving diva a bit of canned pumpkin (not pie filling!) in her food..adds fiber-maybe it will tighen up her bm's....is she losing any weight? seem lethargic??

Oh no, not lethargic at all, her usual hyper self, running around, causing problems. Scooter's the one that's lethargic, which is why I'm worried about him.

I only give them dry food, though, I'd have to start feeding them canned food again to give them pumpkin ... I did that for awhile when Cinnamon (now deceased cat) had chronic renal failure and his stools were loose ... vet recommended it, but he wouldn't eat it. Don't know if Diva would touch it either ... she's definitely a meat eater, not a veggie eater. But I can try it. It's cheaper than the vet ... even if I throw away most of the can (because I really hate pumpkin).
