What's new Friday? I'm NEVER up this time of day!
Good morning all! Well, it's 2:27AM and I can't sleep so I guess I will start this thread today.
I haven't posted much lately...been sort of busy with life these days, and no energy to talk about it, but here I am...awake and feeling like gabbing.
Today I am working...had agreed to fill in as a little guy's sign language facilitator for the day. At this particular daycare, it usually from 8:15 - 1:15. Well, last nite at 9 pm, the person I am subbing for called me to say the child has started a new play group at the sschool for the Deaf and won't be in until 10-10:30, so now I have to stay until 3:30, which totally messes me up...see I am hosting a monthly women's craft club nite at my house at 7pm, and tonite we are going to have a Stampin Up demonstration. I had planned to stop to buy food on the way home from the daycare, and to cook it before they get there, so I will be rushed like mad. I am expecting 10 ladies, and the demonstrator is planning to be at my house for 6, so I am a little anxious about getting everything, including myself ready in time...I guess that is why I am up typing at this hour. I'm sure it will all work out. I had to make arrangements for my husband to get out of work early so he can pick my son up from wrestling practice as well, since I will be at the food store. TGIF tho.
Some good news, I just bought a new pair of blue jeans, size 18...down from size 24, and they look pretty good on me, if I may say so myself. I just passed my 2 month surgiversary on Weds. Celebrated by attending a support group meeting. My nutritionist spoke there....giving us some hints about how to get thru the holidays...it was nice. My mom is cooking, and she only cooks what she likes to eat, and none of that includes what my husband considers his perfect T-giving, so I have to bring all those extras (mashed taters, peas, corn for my picky eater son) and I am planning to bring something good for me (roasted broccoli and a low fat sugar free peanut butter pie). I usually cook again the day after T-giving so we can eat at our house and have left-overs, which my husband, Glenn, says he wants, and then never ends up eating them...so I eat em. Not this yr tho...not cooking on Fri. No left overs at my house this yr. I feel so carefree saying that. :o)
Ok, guess that's it for my rambling. Hope y'all have a great Friday.

When you get older, you realize it's a lot less about your place in the world but your place in you. It's not how everyone views you, but how you view yourself. - Natalie Portman
I am in the same boat......can't sleep. Been playing solataire for a couple of hours trying to wear myself out. Today I will be running last minute errands with my sister. She flies to Utah tomorrow evening and has a few things she needs to do. I am also going to buy Rosetta Stone's Italian for her. We want to go to France and Italy one day. That trip is on our bucket list. I said I would learn French and she has to learn Italian. I bought the French software and have started studying it so it is time for her to get busy with the Italian.
My son and his wife are planning to come over tomorrow evening and will spend the nignt. They will go home Saturday evening and come back for Thanksgiving day. My mother made Gumbo and we were going to freeze it until Thanksgiving but since Matthew will be here tomorrow we may let him eat it then.
That's about all that is happening in Atlanta.
I want to learn Italian, too, for my "someday" trip, and because it's what all my ancestors spoke. My parents had a working knowledge of it, but they never taught us kids. It was always what they spoke when they wanted to keep "secrets."
Let me know how the Rosetta Stone works out. I've seen it advertised, but never knew anyone who used it. I swore I wouldn't go to Italy till I could make myself understood. At this rate, I'll never get there.
Thanks.

Part of my area at work is MN. When I left a month ago they were just starting to winterize my houses. I hope they've all done that or I'll sure have messes when the Spring thaw comes... and loads of plumbing bills.
I think we are having a cold day today.... I'm looking for some pretty winter clothes to go to Starbucks when it opens.. okay.. a while AFTER it opens. I don't want to go in an hour. I'm still sleepy.
