Not sure of the place yet but It will be nice!!!!!
So put on your thinking caps and let us know what you are thinking.

What are you calling the midwest? I live in missouri so that defintely is the midwest but you won't find a beach unless you mean a lake shore. Now..Chicago has a great beach and some people call that the midwest although I think of it as pretty far north. the idea of a get together sounds so fun. lets go for it.

I'll be in Nebraska in June for the Nebraska Days

Hi Carla,
I vote for California (that's where the beaches are!) and it's the western part of mid-west, right?   My other favorite spot would be Las Vegas.     Airline prices have really gone up & it's a tough economy for sure, so having it on the western front would sure be a plus for me!

Jan,

I had thought about Las Vegas also.  For one, the hotels run such great deals with airfare and hotel from Thursday through Sunday. Those are perfect days.

I've got the TGTXSPA list that has what part of the country everyone was from which would be a good gauge to plan something as far as specials go.

There are still good deals out there from the hotels because they are hurting and want the business.

We stayed downtown at the Fitzgerald and it was very reasonable.

There are tons of beaches in Wisconsin and Minnesota too. We are considered Midwest as well. There are wineries all over the Midwest not to mention wonderful
cheese.

OOOH! I love Wisconsin.  I went there on vacation last year and spent a week in Bayfield. It was lovely and relaxing. We hiked on Madeline Island, took boat tours of the other apostle islands and went sailing. It was so beautiful! And the beaches there felt like real ocean beaches since Lake Superior is so vast. One of the best vacations ever!

Yeah Spirit Lake and Okibogi(sp) would be fun. I've been there several times, even if I can't spell it. And Iowa is getting to have a lot of wineries too...And June isn't quite as hot here, not like August!

That could work, we are definitely in the middle. I'd be happy to do what I could to help.

Ok Brenda R and I are thinking of the Chesterton Indiana area. Lake Michigan is 2 miles away from I-95 and Chicago is 45 minutes a way.
It will be nice keep posting.....
