I'm coming up on 6 months post op RN-Y, and I'm feeling sooo- hungry.
Bought a can of almonds- and couldn't leave it alone until I ate every last nut.
It scares me........................
I know i've slacked on tracking my protein intake. So starting to write everything down again that goes in my mouth. Any other suggestions?
Thank you!                    Jenny R.

Thanks for the advice. Sometimes it just helps to talk it out!                       Jenny

I agree writing down your intake really helps. I hope you can get back on track. You are just dealing with head hunger....I hate that. We all fight it everyday....somedays more then others!!

Eat more dense protein at your meals. That stays with you longer and you won't get the urge to eat so often.

Drink water...water....water!!!!

Also posting on Linda S' What Are We Eating post is a good way to keep us honest.

Change up you diet alittle....eatng the same things can cause us to start craving too.

I wish you the best....hugs....connie d

Oh my, I have that problem ... if the whole can is near by, I will eat the whole can. I have some Dixie cups in my kitchen drawer, and when I want some nuts (which are good protein snacks), I put the nuts in the Dixie cups and take them out by my chair. I used to put the whole big tub of peanuts out by my recliner and then kept grabbing nuts to eat ... not a good idea! I couldn't put them down. So now the nuts are put away, and I have to get up to get them (and I'm pretty lazy, so I won't get up usually).

Connie is right about the water. Also, find something to do with your hands (read, sew, needlepoint, talk on the phone ... I call it my lifeline ... phone a friend when you want to eat ... helps me a lot!) A lot of my eating is emotional ... boredom, loneliness, etc., and if I'm feeling that way, I need to talk to someone. So I call a friend, one of my "sistas" and then I get out of the mood.

I'm always available during the day and most weekends, Jenny.
