Hi all

Am sneaking a peek at the board as I am at the office this afternoon

I am taking a day to be on liquids only.  Do any of you do this?  I am hoping to get the scale to go down another pound or two.

Jeane

PS I am down 2 dress sizes!

Jeane,

Two dress sizes is great!  I will sometimes take a day on liquids to give my system a bit of a rest.

I'll do a day or two of liquids from time to time.  It helps to jump start things and is also useful if I have fallen off the wagon and started eating carbs again....  breaks that cycle for me!

The truth of the matter is I am afraid to eat when I am home alone.

That's a very interesting feeling, Jeane.  I think we have all felt a fear that our surgeries won't work, that our restriction will not be enough, that we will go out of control - is it that kind of feeling?  After a while, I think you may be able to relax and trust your restriction will keep you from going out of control.

I had to MAKE myself eat at first.  I didn't want to, I wasn't hungry, and nothing tasted good or right to me. I know I needed real food protein, and made myself.  It got easier with time.

Keep us posted.

The thing is, I have had my first fill but still don't have restriction.

I am going to talk to a nutritionist soon through my insurance and hope to get back on track.  I feel out of control alrready.

Jeane,

Lquids only is not good for me.  Only solid food keeps me satisfied for a decent length of time.

I have been on liquids only for 3 days now, because of band problems, and have gained 3 lbs...liquid calories tend to be high calories, and slip through the stoma all too quickly.

Just my opinion.

I drink liquid protein drinks there are days I have to force myself to eat solid foods either my pouch is being a problem child or my intestines are. So I drink the protein shakes and my pouch heals and intestines settle.

But my nut had a cow when I told her and said I had to eat a solid meal at least once a day the "WLS" is to give you a tool to eat "normally" and make good food choices.

So I did the head shake thing and continue to do protein shakes if that is what my body is telling me..

I haven't tried it but I'm ready to.  I was contemplating making it a once a week thing.  Protein shakes and liquids.
