Good Morning George and everyone..........

It is sooooooo cold....sure wish I could move somewhere warmer!! The high forecasted for today is 31 degrees with strong winds....UGH!!!

Yesterday was a good day. Busy but very productive. I only work 24 hours a week...so far I have 18 in and today is only Wednesday. I forecast a long weekend!!

I am having problems....I still can't get to my emails....hope my nephew can get here soon!!

I don't really have much else to chat about. My new guy and I are getting along great and having so much fun together. I can't believe we are just now dating as we have been good friends for about eight years. Something just clicked and now we taking it as step further. We are so comfortable with each other and I think that is because we know each other so well.
Time will tell.......

Nic had a off day yesterday...the chemo really kicked his butt and he was so tired. Bless his heart!!

Guess I best get on with my day. Special prayers to those in need.

Love and hugs to all.......connie d

Hi all..........Vera, take care of yourself first!!!

Sorry, would like to post to everyone who has posted so far, but I can't remember that far back  (grin)

I have a yucky day ahead.  A call at 9:00 will get me started on doing the 2009 budget for the utility I work for.....we got new software and I am not totally trained on it yet, and the part time gal who worked there quit with no notice,, so I am also being trained on payroll and utility billing!!  At 2:00 I will receive a call to be trained on payroll reporting.  I am already tired!!!

My son called our daughter from Africa last night.  What he described to her is just horrible.  They are looking for pirates, Lord I hope they find none!!!  Two days ago he said they were ready to fire upon a ship that finally backed off......oh I cannot imagine!  Oh, he is in the Navy, does that help make sense of my ramblings?

Oooppps, it is getting late.........need to get ready for work.  Hugs to all of you wonderful people!.............V

Another cold day here.  28 overnight.  We had snow flurries here yesterday!  Very unusual I am told (we have only been here sonce Feb 2005).  Onlt lasted about 5 minutes and didn't stick.  I spent the 1st 18 years of my life in NY and I am NOT fond of snow.

My Mom (she's 84) walked out of the doctor again yesterday!  This has happened to her a few times now.  They call her name, put her in a room, take her vitals and tell her the doc will be 'with you soon'.  She checks her watch, if the doc hasn't come in in 1 hour, she walks out!  If they would just come in to say he is running late or something, she'd stick around.  But nothing!  They KNOW she does this, and I personally think, if they are running late, they think oh Wanda is coming in today, we'll ignore her, she'll leave and we can catch up!  Others where she lives goes to this same practice and the docs are always late and let patients sit there for a VERY long time.  It's like they think these retired people have nothing better to do with their days!

Did my elliptical and will do my crochet today.  Our son is gonna stop by to fix a little leak in the new roof he put on the shed.  It just needs a little more sealant in one spot.  I have the can in the bedroom warming up (that is the warmest room in our house).

Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!  Stay warm.

Morning George and my OFF friends,

I have a love hate relationship with my computer. I know just enough to use it for what I need, but when there's a problem, I'm lost.  All of a sudden I can't print anything. I keep getting an error 20 code. I've tried re-booting, virus scan, you name it. Guess I'll call tech support () tomorrow to see what they can tell me. NOT something I want to do on my day off!

Okay, two things then I gotta run. First of all, there's a posting on the AR forum by a lady who bought my shampoo and conditioner. Can't say anything else lest I get booted by the moderators. It made my day start out with a big ol' grin.

Good thing, 'cause the scale made me   I've gained almost 4 lbs in a month. Still eating less than the recommended 1400 cals a day the Nut says I need to maintain. So, what's the deal?  Even with the gain I'm at 125, super happy with that, just concerned about the trend. It's hard for anyone but you folks here to understand. Kind of feel at a loss about it.

Gotta run....have a dermatologist appt this a.m. then off to work.

Hope everyone's day is a happy one!

Susan,

My dietician gave me grief and said I needed to GAIN (a four letter word) weight. The following week, the surgeon said that we tend to gain and begin to struggle at the two year mark. He wasn't concerned about my weight but that put me on alert.

I am up about 2 pounds and that scares me no end. Ohhh yeah!!! I completely understand.

Special hugs Sweety.

How do we find your shampoo and conditioner? PM me if it is against OH policy.

Hi George and my OFF family:

We had one day of sunshine and now it's typical West Michigan winter weather ... gray and gloomy. No snow, but I'm sure that's not far behind. It sure is cold ... It was nice snuggling under the flannel sheets and comforter with the three cats this morning.

I thought all was set for surgery and the ride home but that fell through. I will have to figure out alternate arrangements. But it was a sweet gesture and that person knows I so appreciate it. It is going to be tough finding someone to drive me home on Christmas day ... everyone is so busy. I should make one of my bosses do this since they are the ones who pushed me to this. They sure owe me. I sure don't want to spend time in a rehab facility ... I'd rather heal up at home with my cats, especially now that one of them appears to be sick (still cat poop outside the box ... yuck!).

Work was rather boring last night and I got home early ... then realized I had printed something and forgot to pick it up. So I had to e-mail one of my coworkers to ask her to put it in my drawer. Not that it was anything top secret, just some Christmas lists. But I didn't want things floating around the office.

Lots of talk later in the evening about the buyouts and who's taking them. Oh, and plus one of the young writers (I think she's a part-timer) sent around an e-mail with a link to a web site that sells t-shirts that say, "Save a Journalist, Buy a Newspaper". I may have to buy one. It's funny ... my dad used to bring home a newspaper every evening, and that's how I got hooked into reading the newspaper, but so many young kids don't read the newspaper. After our generation and the one after us dies, newspaper readers are basically dead. Young folks don't read ... they watch TV and they go online, and you only get a smidgen of the story from TV ... the rest is in print media (newspapers, magazines, etc.) because TV only has a brief amount of time to tell that story. Anyway, the T-shirt is really cute ... I would love to get some for my grandnephews but I think they're too young to understand (8 and 4).

Well, that's all for now. Have a good day. Stay warm if you're in the northern climes.

Hi George and all!
Not a whole lot going on today, still at work but boss is at meetings all afternoon so while the cats away.....

I'm looking forward to extra days off next week because of the holiday.  All non clinical staff are taking Wed-Thurs and Fri off (being told to) and while I am non clinical I am still in nursing, so have not been told this yet.  I wouldn't mind, but I only saved enough vacation time to cover the holiday and the day after, not 3 for each holiday!  might be a tight squeeze!

I must say today the Provigil is not bothering me at all and it seems to be working ok.  I am more awake then normal even doing the computer work!  YEEHAA!

Guess I will go heat up my soup for lunch, it sure tasted good last night because I was cold!  Have a good day all and stay warm!

Just a quick check-in to say HI.. The program director is spending the morning here in the office going over procedures with my boss( Health Coordinator) as next week is her last week. I want to Thank Pat from Sturgis for the wonderful bag of buttons that I will use on the walker bags for the Veterans at the Veterans hospital.  I got a lot of Christmas shopping and wrapping  done last night. Sooo much fun. Chuck and I did some Sams shopping for a Church dinner , then he came over to watch Biggest Loser. I usually cook on Tuesdays but we were running too late from shopping so we stopped at Long John Silvers for take out.. yuck. They have baked fish now but I just can't like fi****ry , I try.My son said he  was looking for a nice 4 foot tree and I found one at the Salvation Army , lighted to boot for $8. I don't think it was ever even used. I just love a bargin. Gotta run I have to report to director how I handle first -aid kits.. Have a blessed day.
