OT: Man released from jail!

Hi Everybody, I read in the Omaha World Herald that a guy was put on probation early because the jail didn't have the equipment to accomodate him. He weighs 430. I can't remember what he was in jail for. What do you think? Mona

Hey Mona,, Huggs.. It is not unusual for non-violent prisoneers to be released early with medical needs especially when they need the room( which is all the time) I would say this comes under that catagory, I bet he wouldn't fit on the cot very well, maybe not very mobil and he would be in danger from other more violet inmates. Just because you know "differant" is always on th ebottom of the peckng order. Just my take on the issue..

hmmm ... I bet those home monitor devices would not fit him either? I wonder what he was "in" for? I would imagine he is not very mobile or a flight risk.

I remember reading somewhere in our paper that when someone is in custody that if they have any medical concerns/procedures etc.  The county or state is responsible for their medical costs.  Maybe because of his size he had other medical issues and they didn't want to be responsible for the medical costs that might occur.  Hopefully he was not in for a violent crime .

Well, I'm glad they let him go.  You think he was "in" because it's a crime to overeat in Omaha?

If it were a crime to over eat in Omaha I would be serving 20 to life for sure..
