Annette:

Knee replacement wasn't fun ... the revision will be even less fun, now that it's scheduled for Dec. 22 ... don't know who I'm going to get to pick me up from the hospital on Christmas Day ... certainly none of my relatives (who live too far and my brother will be out of town) ... I should hit my boss up for this one because he's the one who wanted it rescheduled. I can handle things on my own at home ... I did basically by myself the last time other than three days while Gary was here, and I was fine, although going batty and depressed and lonely looking at the snow drifts ... and I'll get that way anyway.

And I've seen my dad go through hip replacement ... the old guy was out on the porch painting two days after coming home, even though my mom tried to get my brothers over to do it. He got up at 6, my brothers arrived at 7. Dad was a stubborn old guy. Didn't want anyone doing his work, even when he wasn't supposed to do it.

Take your calcium! And your Actonel! There's your reminder. Hey I take my calcium daily ... and I still need the revision on my knee replacement.

Eileen,
I know you are not looking forward to the revision, but the pain MUST stop.

Mom had both hips replaced and she was up and about in no time at all.

I take calcium every day without fail, Actonel once a week. The bone loss- it's a genetic thing plus RNY. Thanks for the reminder though.

Bed time. Good night.

Hi Carla

I am on vacation in Florida - Bonita Springs. Just went outside to pick up the paper and yup, its cold outside. Still, much better than Ontario!
Canadians had their thanksgiving in October but all this talk of turkey makes me hungry. My favorite dinner.
Will probably not do too much of anything today. Going home Friday and back to work on Sat, so doing nothing is pretty good.
Wishing all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving next Thursday.

MONDAY!!  Just another day in the life of a retired old lady!

My DIL and I planned our Thanksgiving day menu and grocery list yesterday when they got back from Myrtle Beach.  Really not much to plan, we generally have the same things.  But checked our pantries for staples to see what we needed to stock up on, along with the special stuff.  We'll grocery shop later in the week.

Yesterday, as soon as they got back from Myrtle Beach, her dogs escaped.  She was on the phone with me.  We dropped our phones, I threw on my shoes, prepared to go join the hunt.  I threw open the door, and there were all 3 of them running hell bent for leather up the street and straight to my front door!  That's the first time that has happened.  When the female gets out, she can be a mile away in a matter of minutes!

In the 30's overnight and will be freezing nights for the rest of the week.  At least there is no snow here.  Wonderful weather to crochet or read!

Good Morning All,
just getting my "fix" here before leaving for my 15hr day at work.
It is cold....not supposed to get over freezing today. Had snow yesterday that covered everything but melted in the afternoon.
My sis and her hubby left yesterday for Jamaica...I feel bad for her with the sunshine, warm temps and beautiful aqua ocean.
I went with her one year and we had alot of fun. Hoping to go back someday. I always said that if I won the lottery, I would live near the ocean where I could look at it every day and listen to the water splashing the shoreline.
Yes, thanksgiving is quickly approaching...will be able to see my kids and their families again. I have most of their Christmas gifts and will send them back with them since they are driving and they won't be back for Christmas.
Gotta go,
Have a great day.

Good morning folks! Cold here this morning but nice and sunny and warming up to high 50's today. My favorite kind of weather. It was the same yesterday and hubby and I got out of the house and went for a bit of shopping and I didn't even sweat !! HOORAY!!
Usually when I get in a store and start walking around, my head gets very hot and starts to sweat. I hope losing weight will help that but my neurologist says it's due to the MS and how it has affected my body core temperature. I'm sure losing weight cant hurt though lol!!!

Looks like it may just be me and hubby for Thanksgiving which will be WONDERFUL!
My youngest son and his family will be in Chapel Hill. My oldest son and his family will be with his dad and family and then her grandmother. I told them not to worry about coming by. It's just too much dragging those 2 kids all over the place. We are going to have them all over the Sunday after Thanksgiving for something other than turkey.

Ok I better get back to work. Hugs to everyone and have a great Monday!

Good morning Carla and all,

I am home on a sick day today.

I read posts every day. Don't post too much...time is not enough and don't have anything too interesting to report!

I am struggling with food...scary scary....can't go back there again!

Son and daughter will be home for Thanksgiving and we will have 13 for dinner at my house...I have to work the next day so I will be very tired. Not sure where we will seat everyone...

Take Care,
Cheryl

Morning Carla...and all. I know I have been missing in action lately, but I sure do think of you all every day.

I have actually been busy working...I know shock!....although it is not producing much in the way of revenue..but such is the nature of being a Realtor. I was driving out in the boonies to show a farm....for the third time....and it was snowing. I thought Wow...the last time I showed this it was so hot....the other Realtor was dripping with sweat while walking around with us.

It sure is a time of worry for me....my sellers have so many problems from Cancer, leukemia, adult special needs children....that I worry about them all the time. The buyers can't get money to buy...except the Feds have money, like VA and FHA....such a different market time.

All my children are coming home for the Thanksgiving. ..so I need to get cooking some of their favorite dishes...like the red sauce for spagheti/ravoli...making some ravoli.

Have any of you every tried making pies ahead of time and freezing them, like cherry and apple, I figure if it works for Sara Lee it should work...but sure would appreciate your advice.

With some of my free time, I have been helping a fellow Realtor organize her home...it's a challenge, but she is amazed how much easier it is with a place for everything. All I have accomplished for her so far is her kitchen and great room. Tomorrow we start on her home office....Yikes that is a challenge, her boyfriend is even excited to help my husband build shelves in her closet for files etc....[and he is a doctor on his day off....I guess he likes the change in activity...you know guys and Home Depot. ]

I also played hairdresser for another fellow Realtor who is a redhead, but with a two inch grow out of gray....we had a glass of wine and I dyed her hair the other night and she is sooo happy now....it cost her $9.99 instead of $100....that was fun, she is so happy. What fun it is to make others happy with just little things isn't it?

Well, I must go now and start cleaning out my laundry room....my husband has been digging around in there for painting stuff and just dumping things on my folding table....so I need to organize some things myself.....he would have stacks of "neat clutter" all over my house if I let him. He is relagated to only places where I can close the cupboard doors or drawers....

Hope your days are wonderful....those poor people iin Monticedo, CA, My brother used to live there and it is certainly a beautiful area....all those memories gone for people...I saw one man who said "I had so much memoriabia that I was going to get too.......now it is all gone. He was that wild professor in "Back tothe Future" films..Chridstopher Lloyd.

Love, Marti
