I visited Lora today

My daughter and I  went to the hospital today to visit Lora. She is in a lot of pain but typical of Lora she said she didn't regret doing it.She could press the pain button every 8 minutes and DID !
She is suppose to go home tomorrow but if I were her I'd ask to stay another day.
Nothing against any of the "guys" out there but I think she needs another day of care in the hospital before she goes home to her husband. I told her and her husband that I'll come over to their house anytime they need me.
Her arms are cradled in pillows that the doctor wrapped around them and taped them in a donut shape around her arms. She can't move her arms at all.
She was up in a chair last night for about an hour.
I was there for a little over an hour and she was getting groggy and slurring her words....Time for me to leave.
Her husband and son came about 20 minutes before I left.
She said to tell everyone hello.

Mary,

Lora NEEDS to stay another night or two.  She has a houseful of men who can't take her to the bathroom, change her dressings, sit with her when she is in pain and just wants to cry and/or move.  I had 24/7 care, God Bless Candy, and it was still rough.  I can't imagine having all she had done at one time.  I could not and would not have done it.  Someone is going to need to help feed her if her arms aren't working, help her get on and off the pot, clean her up, etc.

Give her my love and keep me posted.  PM me if you need to.

Mary,
Thank you for the update. Please send Lora my love.

I agree that she should stay in the hospital where the professionals can tend to her needs. She is so brave to go through this all at one time.

Kisses

Aloha Mary.....You are a good friend! I'm sure that Lora appreciated your coming to see her at this rough time in her journey. She is so brave....beyond anything I could ever contemplate.....and I wish that she comes through this swiftly and then heals to gorgeousness!!

When I hear about Lora, I feel so whimpy worrying about my little tummy tuck coming up. I need to keep perspective here and that's what I love about the OFF.

Thank you so much for filling us in Mary.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

I spoke to Lora a few minutes ago. So far she said the doctors plan on discharging her later today. They are coming to check on her later today after their surgeries.
. She still sounds groggy like she is still on heavy pain meds.
She did get a shower this morning, it took an hour with a nurses help. When I called she was sitting in a chair, but she was dozing off while we talked.
I really hope they keep her another day
I have my support group meeting tonight but when I get a chance tonight I'll update everyone whether she came home or not.
