Good Sunday Morning - What's new with you?

We had fun with the grands. Matthew decided to share his snack and hand fed me. His snack was yogurt fruit puffs. They are healthy, but ghastly tasting. Tom said they tasted like fruit farts, I must agree.

Melanie discovered that I was wearing two shirts, pants and leggings. She insisted on adding extra layers also. I need the layers for warmth, she sure doesn't.

We are having a dish to share at the support meeting. I am making a dessert by mixing SF pudding, pumpkin, and SF/FF Cool Whip. Last week I experimented and froze the mixture. Not a good idea. It becomes a solid mass and impossible to scoop.

Blessed Sunday morning all....
Just a short note to say hello and hope you all have a nice day.....keep warm those of you in the mid-west and east.   They keep saying snow, but haven't seen it yet, at least not here in Sturgis.  It finally stopped raining shortly after lunch yesterday and DS got 3/4 of the roof on his pole building shingled.  They wore layers and he said they stayed nice and warm.....

Sis and I went to a Christmas Bazaar...it was nice but I didn't buy anything....don't need anything.

Finished the second fancy towel, picked out the pattern for the next one and ready to start stitching when I get home from church.   Made a big pot of chili yesterday so just have to warm some of that for my lunch.

We had 171 folks at our Sauerkraut supper Friday nite
despite the nasty cold and rain....the pork was the best I've ever eaten, so moist and tender, but "The Kemminator Pouch" doesn't like pork, so he growled.

Off to breakfast now and then church.

Hugs,
Pat R.

Chilly this morning when I went up to let the dogs out.  Kids are in Myrtle Beach for the weekend and I'm tending the dogs.

Got out some yarn and began a crochet project.  Cold weather motivates me to do that.  And it is very hard to nibble when your hands are busy!  I also get caught up on movies on HBO, or the latest music videoes on GAC.

My Mom will be calling at 10.  She has called me every Sunday at 10 AM for probably 30 years (she calls my sister at 9 AM).    She also writes us a weekly letter.  Sometimes there isn't much to say, but at least we are saying it.  She has been a little confused and gets 'jangly' (her word) very easily over the tiniest things since Dad passed in May.  And big things (anything to do with paperwork or money), sends her into a major tailspin.  I wish we lived closer.

I made some yummy leek soup yesterday afternoon, and leftovers are in order for today!

morning!
we had a fairly productive day yesterday! stopped by the DAR lady's house to pick up necessary papers with which to finish typing the minutes (have to do that today!); donate dmy plasma and then we headed to the stores etc--big heavy rain as we were starting the day and mucho wind-i knew we couldn't do a grcocery store on an empty stomach and soup sounded good so we splurged and i had some soup at bob evans, michael had ch****n fried steak and mashed taters--we  went to walmart and came out to  huge feather like snow flakes!!! got the oil change don teh car-way overdue and we are under warranty so wanted to get that done! cashier at meijers had overcharged us on something so i straightened that out! and bought yarn to do my oldest granddaughter's hat and scarf set-headed home-
brody had exhausted his bladder after 8 hours so i had to clean that while michael put them both out- we had baked skinless chicken and rice with peas  leftovers and a quiet evening....

soups sound awesome to me this weekend- debbie- yours sounds yummo!!!!

my list for today includes a shower, a phone call and the DAR minutes, some laundry and some knitting-maybe a trip to the dollar tree for kleenex and an extension cord- maybe not-that would mean getting dressed!!!

had a nice phone chat with my son last nite- he wants us to go dig out his hostas thurs when i do my plasma again- and they have decided to rent a house ( one which a childhood friend of theirs and my daughter grew up in-next door to an elementary school!) which i saw coming as it has not been good at the inlaws lately- and they are going to walk away from their mortgage-that bothers me tremendously --they have not lived in their house for 6 months yet have paid the $1000 monthly mortgage and they just don't see an end in the real estate turmoil and cannot afford to rent and pay on the house..so he is quite saddened as they have always been rule followers and tried to "do everything right". this gives credence to my wanting to go back to renting when and if we ever sell this house....

this whole situation of the economy and the real estate issues and the holidays and talking about grandkids enforces my wants and desires to be closer to my grands and my kids and i just really have to suck it up and keep plodding away as so many are trying to do!i continue to be grateful for my job-and i stand by the fact that i need more....i had a wonderful conversation with a product demonstrator at walmart yesterday- asked her some leading questions as i have been attempting to get work as a demonstartor /mystery shopper/ merchandiser ...

woke up at about 6 and went to the couch
oh-annette-i had a dream about you this morning-actually was a pleasant one til the end so i am hoping you are well today-no-you didn't get sick--you got upset by something that we were talking about-someone else from OFF board was also in the dream but i don't remember who-

anyhow i am rambling...
hugs and prayers....sadgma (V) i'll try to write later today....

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Margo,

The OFF board seldom upsets me. The main board is often full of drama, which is the reason I stay away from there.

The economy is a huge stressor here too. Our furnace is failing and looks like our well is going too. I'd sell and go to an apartment but those two items would have to be replaced first.

Next time, have pleasant dreams.. all the way to the end.

Kisses

Good Morning All

I guess it's still morning.  I just woke up, after sleeping around the clock.  Guess i was more tired than I thought.  I survive on 5-6 hours a night during the week, and by the weekend, I'm shot.  My work schedule is erratic at best, seems to change every week.  That doesn't help.

Annette, every time I start to think that an apartment would be a relief, rather than keeping up with this big house and yard, I remember that most places won't take pets.  I only have 3, but your 8 (no matter how well-behaved) would be quite a problem.  So, I guess I'm stuck here for the duration.  I do love it, and my gardens, but it seems like something always needs to be fixed, replaced, or updated.  Not only does it take (all!) my spare time, but it keeps me cash poor as well.

Last night I ushered at the local college.  I usually enjoy the performances, but this 90 minute play entailed a lot of shouting and yelling, and it got old for me really quick.  I do enjoy my quiet, and that's even more important to me since working where I do, where it's constant phone calls, chattering, and loud men!  I'd work nights, but can't stay awake without eating non-stop, and that's not a good choice for me.

17 months and counting.  Everyone says I'll miss it when I retire.  Yeah, like a toothache.  I can work per diem 2-3 times a month, and make enough for plane fare wherever I want to go, probably as often as I want to go.  That's enough "busy"ness for me.

I hope everyone has a good day, and coming week.

Candy

Candy,

They are NOT well behaved and impossible to hide. We are probably here for the duration too.

17 months - that will get here. You will be too busy and not miss one thing.

Liz was a mystery shopper for a while before she moved to Kansas City( she has moved back) I loved her stories, really it is a lot of work, very spacific questions you have to get answered, and spacific times you have to shop the differant places. I think it would be fun. She said a friend of hers does something with a branch of motels and asked if we would like to do our city when the time came, can't remember the branch only that it is someplace I could't afford to stay on my own, HECK YES I WILL Do It.. rack up room service and sit by the pool, I'm all over that..LOL
