Good Sunday Morning - What's new with you?

What a non-productive great day!  Went to see Eddie play ball.  First game he went hitless, but made a leaping catch of a line drive for the last out in a 5-4 victory.  Then in the next game he got a hit and an RBI, plu**** the ball hard the other 2 times up, but they lost 10-5.  Sunday morning 8AM again.  It's cold out there at that time.

Hope everyone has a good day.  I will stop by sometime later.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Good Morning George and everyone!

I can't believe I'm still up.    I should be cleaning my computer room but can't quit surfing.    Have had different grand kids this weekend as my DS had boxing matches all weekend so they have been getting picked up about 2am.   I normally have my daughters girls from Sunday night to friday night so no days off for me this week.   Oh well they are only little once.

We had snow today yuck!   I'm anxious for friday to get here as we are flying to Louisiana to see my DH family.   Will fly out of New Orleans to Detroit on Monday afternoon.  It will be nice to get away even though it's only a weekend.   It's hard for us to get away with all our animals.

Ok I'm getting back to my cleaning.  DH is working 12 hour nights so I'm way off schedule.

Hope everyone has a good sunday!

I understand how you feel with the grandkids.  The most blessed portion of my life was when my son, DIL, and grandson lived with us for the first 2 1/2 years of his life.  Nothing beats being able to walk down the hall at 3AM and see your sleeping grandchild safe in YOUR house.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

AMEN to that ,george!  i have had that blessing with two of my granddaughters!!!
i miss them so terribly - you and i have had the discussion about moving closer to them!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Well here I am..finally home from the Saurday night Music Trivia Pursuit evening in the city..our team came in second, losing by only five points.  When we came outside, it was trying hard to snow...brrr! We all went to Tim Hortons for coffee after and chatted alot then aprted ways and headed home.  Derek is at work til 4 am at the club where he is a part time Bouncer.

The rain continues and the temperatures continue to drop..they ARE predicting the white stuff.  It sounds soo cold out there.

On Sunday, Im picking up my mother at her retirement community and taking her to her favourite restaurant for an early supper.  There we will meet one of mother's cousins and HER daughter....this will be a bit of a Birthday Supper since  mom turns 89 on Nov 26th.

We have a new kitten inside now...LilyRose, the kitten who used to walk like a turtle with her back legs straight out perpendicular to her body  has moved inside.  LilyRose has been to the vet, had her needles, was de-wormed and de-fleaed.  I explained how LilyRose was born in a five gallon pail outside under a tarp in the driveway and was presented to society by her mother looking and moving like  platypus.  Derek immediately called her FLAT-a-Puss and it broke my heart to see this tiny kitten flopping around trying to keep up with the others.  She is so pretty..pure snow white with calico patches on her back and clear healthy eyes.

I decided that she had a beautiful spirit so she deserved a beautiful name too...that's why she is called LilyRose.  Id massaged her hing end daily..very gently and now she walks almost normal. However, when the vet heard all this and examined thie kitten, he said that LilyRose should not be alive because, as he showed me, her back had been broken..either at birth in the birth canal or a little later..perhaps the mother, Twinkie, had jumped down into the bucket and landed on the kitten breaking her back.  Her vertabrae there are crushed but have somehow fused and she is walking.  The vet calls her a MIRACLE KITTEN.  She still walks with a stange gait but she walks, jumps, runs and pounces like other kittens and is a sweet-natured happy little creature.  Katie, our resident tortie, is NOT amused.

Well, I have one report to write, 3 mandalas to create then Im off to bed.

Nancy,

LilyRose sounds SUPER special. Katie will adjust in time. I haven't had a kitten in soooo long.

Thank you, Annette..LilyRose is such a joy to have in the house.  Poor Katie gives us big "puppydog" eyes as she sits on the third step down from the livingroom and all we see are the tips of her ears and those big yellow eyes peeking over the top step.  She makes me feel soo guilty!  And when she does come up into the livingroom, she always sits with her back towards us!  I'm SURE that she is well aware of what she is doing!  LOL

LilyRose misses her litter, Im sure, she lays against our feet and snuggles in between...almost packed tightly and sleep on her poor little damaged back, all four legs in the air..no dignity lost on LilyRose!

*hugs*

The usual week end for me. I'm working straight through until Thursday. So while the rest of the world is out living I'm helping run the place. I work at the local Answering Service and somebody has to answer for all the doctor's and other important people who aren't in the office after hours and week ends. It was a typical busy day for me. And I'm back for another day Sunday  pm 3 to 11. But it was a good day. I've had much worse! Sue

Good Morning George and all!
It's early here, 0545, dogs have to go out at the same time every day you know!  They've been out, eaten and out again.  I'm making a cup of tea for me then will no doubt go back to bed for a little while anyway.
I made some soup last night and I think it will taste good, has mashed sweet potatos and a mashed up butter cup squash in it too.  I added some leeks, carrots, a yellow pepper and some chicken/feta/spinach sausages chopped up.  Sounds odd I guess but it seems to taste pretty good the little sips I had of it.
It's snowing outside right now and seems right chilly. I really am not ready for this weather!  I think today may be a day to hit $4 with my laptop and sip chai and surf in the quiet atmosphere, or I may just stay here and work on the house.  who knows what the day will bring?  LOL!  Hope you all have a great Sunday!
