Deb,  I would just want to ask if I wasn't much help to him when he was working there why would you cal me thinking I would be more help now?  Sounds like he doesn't have anything to do and misses you! LOL

Sounds to me like he misses you.  Even though it's a very odd way of showing it.  You must be very happy he's retiring.
