Just discovered over 50 site

I have been on the Ontario site since first of September and just now ventured on to the over 50 site - this is wonderful! I am so pleased to see so many having WLS after 50. I was concerned re complications and amount of weight lost for those of us out of our 20's and 30's- will be interested in reading how eveyone is doing.
I find out Nov 25th the date of my RNY. Believe it will be end of march or first of April in Hamilton, Ontario. I am so sick of carrying this other person around with me. I feel so old and cumbersome.

This is one of the best sites.  Everyone has been so helpful and welcoming.

I had surgery NOV 3rd.  Things are going pretty good.  I was worried my recovery would take long being over 50.  Not so.  Things are going great.  Dont worry about that.

Good luck and keep us posted as to when your surgery is scheduled.  You can get all the help and support you need from this fine group.

Are you having surgery in Canada? Yes, I am an avid golfer - am so looking forward to fitting in to smaller golf clothes and being able to walk the course. I cringe everytime I tee off and know my backside is swinging for all to see

Welcome to Over 50,  the poeple here are fantastic...so helpful.
Am also from Ontario and am 58.
Had surgery last week and I feel great!!!
Already down 10 pounds.....  it's wonderful.
