Copy Desk Consolidation: Big Work News
on 11/12/08 6:04 am - Park Forest, IL
Well, any news is better than no news and wondering/worrying about the unknown. That said, You are a very confident and intelligent person who is an asset to your company. I'm praying everything works out for the best for you and your situation.
Hugs, Paulette
As far as selling my condo, I'm not doing anything on that either. I still have a job, it's still in Grand Rapids. Nothing has changed for now. I'm not anticipating that it will change either. Some of my duties may change next year, or my schedule (I hope I won't be working early mornings again, but if I have to, well, then I have to).

Change is scary but it can be a wonderful thing. Without change we can get stagnant. You sound so much more confident than I have ever heard you when you told us what happened. Take that confidence and know that you are a talented woman who is an asset to their profession. Take it one step at a time and know that we are all behind you whatever it is that you decide to do.
I am sending lots of love and plenty of big huge hugs to you. I know that you feel them. Call me when you want to talk~heaven only knows I am not working. I put my application in at a dang smoke shop and didn't get the job. I told Bill that it is a pretty dang bad when you can't sell cigarettes to a smoker! Oh well, like I always say God will provide and when He sees fit for me to get a job it will be there.
As you said.... at least now you know........
That has been the worst part of the impending lay-offs at my job too. The waiting. The not knowing from day to day. That part is now behind you, and you can make plans to move forward when the time is right.
As your boss said, don't make any decisions right now...... it will all work out.
I wish you all the luck in the world with whichever decisions you make. And I'm sure you'll come out on the winning end!
Hugs,
Vicky
I hope you hear something on your situation. I check the wire daily to see if anything comes up on Fidelity (plus, they run our 401k). I hope your news isn't bad ... it's so tough out there right now. Even QVC is cutting jobs (guess I haven't been able to spend enough!)

Thanks for your concern. The big lay-off was yesterday, and I did survive this round. Round 2 will come around sometime in the 1st quarter, so it's still a wait and see game. At least I'll have a job through the holidays.
I hadn't heard about QVC! Now I KNOW the world is going to hell in a handbasket!
Hope all works out well on your end.
Take care,
Vicky
My brother has no news on his front at AIG, either. It's not his fault the execs there are idiots and go to expensive retreats. Geeesh! What were they thinking?
