Hi Eileen,

Well, any news is better than no news and wondering/worrying about the unknown.  That said, You are a very confident and intelligent person who is an asset to your company.  I'm praying everything works out for the best for you and your situation.

Hugs, Paulette

Eileen,
Change helps us grow as a person. What about your knee surgery? Is that still on? You're in my prayers and thoughts in hoping the move goes smoothly including selling your condo.

Love, Nancy

My surgery ... that was one thing I had to talk to my boss about this afternoon. He said not to postpone anything and actually suggested I might want to schedule it earlier (something I didn't want to do because it's hard to get time off around the holidays, and I didn't want to have it in December because I wouldn't be able to go home for my family Christmas get-together). But he told me not to make any decisions right now about that, and he would get back to me on that.

As far as selling my condo, I'm not doing anything on that either. I still have a job, it's still in Grand Rapids. Nothing has changed for now. I'm not anticipating that it will change either. Some of my duties may change next year, or my schedule (I hope I won't be working early mornings again, but if I have to, well, then I have to).

Eileen,

You sound rightfully confident in your abilities - good for you. Changes are often frighteneing, but NOT knowing can be worse.

You have a whole bunch of support right here.
We are rooting for you.

WOW Eileen, you sound really good, confident and strong and there is just something about your post and what you said, no, HOW you said it, that makes me have a real positive feeling in my gut for what will happen for you, no matter what it is. You almost sound excited. I am so glad for you that at least you know what may be...
Good job, girl! Will keep you in thoughts and prayers.

Eileen, my sister from another Mother, at least now you know what is in front of you. Nothing is scarier than they unknown. Now that is behind you and you can pick up your feet and walk right into your new and exciting life again.

Change is scary but it can be a wonderful thing. Without change we can get stagnant. You sound so much more confident than I have ever heard you when you told us what happened. Take that confidence and know that you are a talented woman who is an asset to their profession. Take it one step at a time and know that we are all behind you whatever it is that you decide to do.

I am sending lots of love and plenty of big huge hugs to you. I know that you feel them. Call me when you want to talk~heaven only knows I am not working. I put my application in at a dang smoke shop and didn't get the job. I told Bill that it is a pretty dang bad when you can't sell cigarettes to a smoker! Oh well, like I always say God will provide and when He sees fit for me to get a job it will be there.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

As you said.... at least now you know........

That has been the worst part of the impending lay-offs at my job too.  The waiting.  The not knowing from day to day.  That part is now behind you, and you can make plans to move forward when the time is right.

As your boss said, don't make any decisions right now......  it will all work out.

I wish you all the luck in the world with whichever decisions you make.  And I'm sure you'll come out on the winning end!

Hugs,
Vicky

Vicky:

I hope you hear something on your situation. I check the wire daily to see if anything comes up on Fidelity (plus, they run our 401k). I hope your news isn't bad ... it's so tough out there right now. Even QVC is cutting jobs (guess I haven't been able to spend enough!)

Hi Eileen,

Thanks for your concern.  The big lay-off was yesterday, and I did survive this round.  Round 2 will come around sometime in the 1st quarter, so it's still a wait and see game.  At least I'll have a job through the holidays.

I hadn't heard about QVC!  Now I KNOW the world is going to hell in a handbasket!

Hope all works out well on your end.

Take care,
Vicky

I'm glad your job is safe for a few more months ... yes, even QVC is suffering (like I said, it's all my fault ... I can't spend anymore! ) Take good care of what's left of my 401K, will ya?

My brother has no news on his front at AIG, either. It's not his fault the execs there are idiots and go to expensive retreats. Geeesh! What were they thinking?
