Big work meeting tomorrow
8:30 a.m. tomorrow ... could be the big meeting about consolidation about the editorial staffs of the newspapers. Don't know the details, but my boss told me there was going to be a meeting. He said it wasn't mandatory, but it was important. He said he could update me on it. So I asked how important it was for me to attend, and he said, "If I were you, I'd attend." So I guess I'm getting up early. Won't get much sleep tonight, that's for sure.
Don'tcha just hate it..... I'd ******vous wreck. Maybe it is a forewarning to get the ole resume' polished up just in case... not just you but the whole staff. ughhhh This has been hard times for many people. Cinching up the belt again... Well, hang in there and let us know what happens. Our thoughts and prayers are for you... Millie
When they consolidated the ad production staffs, they offered buyouts to everyone on all three papers. Fortunately, enough people took the buyouts that no one lost jobs ... they promise us all jobs, but don't say where those jobs will be (could be at another paper far, far away from here, and then I'd be stuck trying to sell a condo in a bad housing market in Michigan). We shall see.
I say I'm not going to get much sleep because I'm still at work, have to wait for a late story and probably won't get home til after midnight, then have to get up at 7 to come downtown again for an early meeting. So not much sleep tonight. Plus I'll be worried, plus in pain ... this is what I usually do at night ... I have to knock myself out as it is. If I'm lucky, I'll get 5 hours. maybe.
