Dear Connie,  Thank you so much for sending prayers and kind words. I know that you understand completely how hard this time is.  I appreciate so much that you took time to reply to my post.  My heart goes out to you too, I admire you strength in all you are facing with your family.  I'm keeping Nic and you & your family in my prayers too.

Hugs, Paulette

Hi Aime and my OFF family:

Aime, of course you did nothing wrong! You helped Norronda as much as you could. She probably wouldn't have lived as long as she did, or had that baby, if it hadn't been for you. Don't blame yourself for anything. Sometimes these things happen.

No day off for me ... Day 2 of six this week. Kitties are pooping on the rug in the front bedroom (computer room) again. Don't know why and don't want another trip to the vet, since he already said they appeared healthy. They have four boxes ... this poop was right by the boxes, just not in it. I just don't understand it.

Tried this new coffee-flavored protein powder my health food store guy wanted me to try, since my AchievOnes are on back order. It's OK, but has a bitter after-taste. Takes a lot to get it mixed in. Since I've got this big jug of it, I guess I'll use it, but I won't buy it again. Maybe I'll add some Splenda to it tomorrow.  Like I said, not really pleased with it. I want my AchievOnes!

No snow here, Judy, just gloomy and cold. I hate lake-effect snow too. We get hit with it a lot from the big lake, Michigan. Since I'm closer to the lake on the western edge of the area, I get more of it than in Grand Rapids ... it's just a little ways away. Well, in January, after I have my knee redone, that's when a lot of it hits, and I'll be looking out at the snow and watching it drift up instead of having to drive in it.

Well, have a good day.

My cat had never once gone outside her litter box and all of a sudden she started going all over the house, I was mad and worried. Took a while but finally I figured itout. I put the cat box in a garbage bag then add the little, makes clean-up a brease, I just pull the bag out and throw it away. Well, I had gotten new bags that were vanilla scented. When I went back to the  reg ones pronto, poopy problem was over. I guess she didn't like the scented bags. Don't know if this will hel*****t..

No, I don't use scented anything ... I'm allergic to that stuff.

Eileen,

How much do you pay for your Achieve One's up there?  They are way too expensive down here.  Everything, I'm finding is so different due to location. Wondering if it would be worth it to buy them and have them shipped.  I think they are $2.50 or more here. That's an awful lot.  I could drink 2 or 3 of them a day.

I'm thinking I might start taking my whey & egg protein to $4 and having them add it to Varonno instead of their soy protein.  Would be four dollars a day probably. Heck I don't know.

Just home and trying to figure out how to cut expenses down.

Hate to tell you, but it's a gorgeous day in Texas.  72.

It's $32 for a case, so that's $2.60 something apiece, but I only have one a day. It's too expensive to get them online and have them shipped (Bariatriceating.com charges $12.99 to ship them, the place I get them from still is cheaper). I was getting them for $30 until fuel went up ... I wonder if now that gas is under $2 if they'll go down again ... I should ask.

I will have to try adding some splenda to this stuff or a flavoring, although it's supposed to be cafe mocha; it's just such a bitter aftertaste.

Good late morning to all my OFF family. I have been up for several hours but just to lazy to turn the computer on. How sad is that???

Aime,I can only say the same things that have already been said to you. You did contribute to her life and made it much easier and better for her. She left this world knowing that her dear son will be well taken care of and his Grandma is kind, loving and nurturing person. Take care of yourself and know that we are here for you always.

I have to go to the funeral home this afternoon in Highland. I am not sure just where it is but my bff is going with me. Between the two of us we should get there. A man that I know had his mother pass away Friday night. She lived in the UP of Michigan and they had a showing there and brought her here to be buried. I hate going to funeral homes. They just bother me so much. The older I get the more they bother me. I am probably thinking that my time to visit one and walk in or out is coming nearer with each passing year.

It is so cold here it isn't funny. I am freezing and have been all morning. The sun isn't out and it is now in the low 30's. The furnace keeps running and it feels cold to me anyway. I am wondering if the furnace isn't working right. We had that problem before. I mus****ch that.

I have a meeting at church tonight so between the funeral home and the meeting it is going to be busy. I am not really looking forward to the meeting either but what am I suppose to do? Tomorrow and Friday in the early afternoon Fern and I are going visiting. On Wednesday we are visiting a few of the shut ins and on Friday we hit the nursing homes. We have 5 to visit in them. I do enjoy the visitations though. I sit and talk with them and they seem to so enjoy the interaction of us. They are such a important part of my life. One of the women that we visit in the NH in my old art teacher from elementary school. I also went to school with her daughter Sarah. Eleanor still remembers me from the elementary schools that she taught. She has some dementia but at times she is with it.

I guess I had better get going. I am sending love and hugs to all and special prayers for everyone since in this day and age we need them for one thing or another. God knows what we all need and that is the most important thing. Keep smiles on your faces since that might bring some sunshine into someones life that otherwise might not have had any. I helps us too........so it is a win win thing.

I, too am blessing and thanking all our veterans. Without them we wouldn't have the freedoms that we have. Our wonderful country wouldn't be any different than the countries that we have fought in. I am remembering all who are with us now and those who have gone before us. I am keeping my dad in my thoughts since he was almost 4 years overseas, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was taken a POW.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Good morning Aime and everyone else!

Aime, I am so sorry that you thought you might have contributed to N's death.  You were so caring and compassionate - but I know how our thinking goes.  My 87-year-old Mom still thinks she might have done something wrong when pregnant with my brother, causing his birth defect.   I'm so happy you have the peace of knowing that you had nothing to do with her death, and that she knew how much you loved her.

Today is a work day for me.  Lots and lots of paperwork and computer time. This afternoon, we are working with the vendor to build a new time and attendance program for our 2300 employees.  Big project.  I'll be in charge of training them all to use it.

It finally got chilly here today and I wore a shawl to work.  I am envious of those of you in the snow, because it must be nice to have such distinct seasons.  Still, I'm a California girl at heart.

Happy Veterans Day to you and yours.

Hello my OFF friends! I missed you all this morning. I overslept and had to rush and get to work.
My assistant is off today and it has been a zoo in here all day! Finally calming down now enough to say hello!
Weather is beautiful here. Nice clear skies. Around 55 outside right now.
Margo, I'm so sorry you're having such troubles. Keep the faith though. I went thru 2 husbands until I found Mr. Wright lol. Been with him 20 years and love him more every day.
Paulette you poor thing. It's so very sad! So sorry for your friend! My aunt went thru the same thing. First lung cancer then it went to her brain. Very sad to watch this.

Hope you all  have a wonderful evening.
Hugs to everyone and special hugs to the ones that are hurting
