Linda,

It's 6:45 am here and I just got a call from the nursing home.  When I see that caller ID at this time of day, my heart goes up into my throat, but they just wanted to tell me that one of Mom's legs is badly bruised and they think it's because she's been thrashing around in bed and hitting it on the footboard of her bed.  (I guess they didn't want me to discover it and think they'd been beating on her!)

B: peanut butter chocolate protein shake w/ banana
S: yogurt
L: crab alfredo (no pasta), broccoli w/ pine nuts and parmesan
S: smoked turkey & muenster cheese rollup
D: chicken w/ mushrooms & onions, asparagus
S: Shelly's lemon mug cake (an eggface recipe)

Good morning, our little sweetie. I hope that today is nothing short of fantastic for you. So far today is good here. Cold but good. I guess around here you have to know that it is going to be cold. You just bundle up more. It is kind of like "A Christmas Story" movie. I remember being bundled up like the little brother in the movie. Bundled so much you can't move. Oh the memories that movie brings. It was written by a man who lived in Hammond which isn't far from me.

Food is good but the scale is not. I weighed today and it says that I am up 3.4 pounds and I know that isn't right. I must be holding fluid is all that I can think of. I have gotten more protein and fluid the last few days and it is good so I am not sure what else it could be.

Pre B: glass of decaf Hazelnut iced coffee (I am making my own)
B: sf oatmeal with cheese stick
S: slim fast low carb shake
L: cottage cheese with fruit
S: pomegranate (I bought one and never had one before)
D: not sure I have a meeting
S: sf pudding

I had better get going. I am running late since I have done nothing this morning but read the paper and talk on the phone. Oh well....I am sending love and hugs to you and saying special prayers for you and yours. Remember to smile pretty and make someones day a bit happier.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

pomegranate - always brings up a fond childhood memory for me.  the lady who lived behind my granny's house had a pomegranate tree.  After school we would line up and she would hand out pomegranates.  They were deliciious, although those weren't as good as the one's we would steal.  lol
Hugs! Donna L (finding_me) - I just know I'm here somewhere...

Hi Linda,

Sad day for me today. One of my closest friends has lung cancer (1 1/2 yrs since diagnosis), it has spread to her brain. I spoke to her husband today the prognosis is not good and he said things are day by day, that she is going downhill very quickly. I am so sad.  I keep crying.

B- Coffee, cereal & skim milk
S- 9 dried prunes
L- Salad
D- Fish, Squash, Brown Rice

sad hugs, Paulette

So sorry to hear about your friend.... lung cancer is so insidious and does it just SEEM that it doesn't get the publicity that other types of cancer get?  I know there is much being done as far a s research and treatment, but it's just not enough!
Be strong, remember the good times and, yes, cry all you want.
You and she are in my prayers.
