S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y *** It's Saturday, What's new with you???
I have been on the phone now for 150 minutes, first with my friend Margie in South Dakota (snow, blowing snow, but only about 3 inches she said, she lives in Redfield, eastern S.D.) and now with my brother Gary, who called while I was on the phone with Margie. Luckily, I have voice call waiting, or I wouldn't have known Gary was calling.
I slept til 11 a.m. today ... got up once at 8 and went to the bathroom and then Diva crawled under the covers with me and Scooter snuggled next to me. When I woke up later, all three were in bed with me. You can tell the temperature has gone down ... they're cold, too.
Yesterday I had sent out a cute e-mail I got from my brother, and just out of curiosity I sent one to this guy that I met online last winter. We had one date and communicated for awhile through e-mail, then he quit contacting me. Which was weird, because I thought we really connected. Well, anyway, I forwarded him this e-mail and he e-mailed me back and asked if I would give him my phone number, that maybe we could get together for coffee. So I gave him my phone number, but of course, he didn't call yet. Oh well. If he calls, he calls. This guy was nice, but ya know, if he's really interested, he'll call. If not, his loss, not mine.
It's raining buckets here and very dreary. Supposed to get rain mixed with snow tomorrow. Not happy thinking about snow at all.
We had such a nice warm week.
Yes, I'm feeling better George ... I really was in a lot of pain last night and wanted to get home early, but unfortunately I was stuck sitting there late, doing the reviews. Stupid opera! We also had Three Dog Night (which was at least a little more interesting).
No big plans for today. Listed some more stuff on eBay ... wish me luck! I could use a little extra money ... I am operating in the red this week. Not the plan, but I screwed up this week.
Well, have a good day.
Yesterday I was playing Christmas music and watching it snow!!! It is cold and blustery again today. My grandson stayed with me while his mom went to the chiro here in town. He wanted to go out and play in the snow......NOT! So instead we went to the basement and looked for snow pants for him, upon not finding any, we had to drag up a rubbermaid container of fabric (I quilt). He dug thru it and found some fabric with tractors on it. So........I had to help him iron the fabric, find some to go with it and we made a little blanket type thing for his little half brother. We sat at the kitchen table and I let him sew the four sides. He did a wonderful job! Such are the things memories are made of...........I hope!!!!
Margo..........my heart goes out to you...........please allow others to help you........what goes around comes around and when you are able, I am sure you will or have helped others. Absolutely NO ONE has a right to judge others except the Lord. You are in my prayers today.
To the rest of you.........have a great weekend and thank you for being so open and welcoming!

Hello OFFers....
There was no way I could make the Texas Message Board breakfast. I got up early enough, got dressed, made a maple walnut oat bundt cake to take to $4 this morning. Kathy picked me up and took me to $4. We stayed for awhile and had a good time with everyone coming in. I just knew by 8:45 that riding to Ft. Worth was going to be too much. I went home and went to 'nap'.
I did manage to putter around the house some. Nothing major, just emptying the dishwasher, throwing a load of clothes in the washer. I'll wait until someone is here to get down and get them to put in the dryer. It's too much of a stretch for me right now.
I'm going to an engagement party tonight for some dear friends. I've been ready for an hour. Hope I don't have to go to the bathroom, it's a 30 min ordeal. I look pretty darned cute, tho. I'm wearing my bestest long dress so my drain tubes can hang and don't show. I little bulge around my knees but not that noticeable. I'm full of Lortab so I feel really good....:)
Son went to the store and got my list bought. I'm taking goat-cheese covered seedless red crown grapes rolled in pistachios on a plate of arugula w/green and black grapes to compliment and a buddah hand in the center for appeal. It's not a sweet dish for sure.... to be eaten with red wine. First time I've made them. They will be much cheaper next time since I know what I'm doing. AND, they were easy once I figured it out.
That's it from the homefront today. Other than what I've told you, I've just sat in the chair and become my mother. What do you want to know about Law & Order?

I'm so late coming online today that I wondered if I should even post. But as you have been so kind as to inquire about my young friend's wedding, George, I thought I'd let you know we had a BLAST! These two kids are 26 and 30 years old... and you know what kind of music was played at the reception all night? OLDIES!!!! Oh my gosh, I knew EVERY single song! It was great! The crowd was up and dancing the whole night. The bride never sat down except for dinner. My back held out well, the chiro visit did a good job on Thurs. Now my knees hurt from dancing... haha. It never ends, I tell you!
Thank you for the concern about my job situation, it looks like so many of us are in or near to being in the same situation. Rumor has it that Wed will be the day of the announcement of the lay-offs.
I'm going to cut this short today, since I've already missed most of the day!
Hope you're all having a good one.....
Vicky
Mine was most wonderful. Beautiful weather again. Blue skies, high around 78.
For my birthday,(which was actually on 9/15 and this is the first chance we've had - our birthday tradition), I went with my 2 sisters and niece to lunch at Logan's Steakhouse.
Yummy..Left there and went to Kohl's. (Had to get SOME shopping in lol). Got 2 of the grandsons some new jeans, etc. Kohl's had a great sale.
Then off to the movies. OK I was bad and had popcorn with butter but I had to. It WAS the movies and it's a rule.

Good night and hugs to all!
