Margo, we are family!!!  Sometimes we need a helping hand.  I wish I could help more of my family members, but we are experiencing some difficulties ourselfs.  You may know that I am a realtor and I guess that is explanation enough right there.  I have only been in the business for 2 years and of course they have been the worse two years for real estate in the last 20 around here.  If I could only have seen ahead.....   I sure would not have quit my "real" job!  I am sending up prayers for financial blessings for all of us in need.  Hang in there and vent anytime you feel like it!

Hugs,
Vera  LapBand 8/12/2008

Hey Margo, no judging here. You do what you have to do to stay alive. There's nothing wrong with taking a handout or a handup. Everyone needs help sometime. Have you heard of Angel Food Ministries? Go to http://www.angelfoodministries.com/Default.asp? You can get a lot of food for a very little money, and there's no income requirements. You can get a whole lot of food for about $30 a month, and it's really good food; check the Web site to see if there's a church in your area. They give it out once a month. We did a story on this in our newspaper, and our food editor was amazed at the abundance and the quality of food available. I would do this if I had a freezer.

There is no shame in standing in line. You are a hard-working person and need help. There are a lot of people in the same situation (me included). Anyone who cares to judge you can stick it (excuse my language). We spend our money the way we care to, and they spend theirs the way they want to.

Good Morning All,
I was fuming last nite...I had sent a b-day gift to my 5yr old granddaughter in VA this wk via online toysrus.....I spent 29.99 for the movie, 11.00 for 2day shipping. Well, she didn't get it for the 2 days but 3rd day at 7pm and apparently I ordered the wrong type movie disc for their player so my daughter took the movie to toysrus in Richmond to exchange it along with the receipt from the shipping box. They said since it was "now" on sale, they would only give her 19.99 for it! I called the customer service for toysrus and gave them holy hell. The supervisor says that every store has their own return policy....wait a minute...I read her the return policies from her own website stating that if the original receipt is brought to the store you will get full credit.
She said she couldn't do anything about this....I changed her mind fairly fast...she said she would credit my account for the 10.00 difference. Now I'm going to send my granddaughter the extra 10.00 so she can shop for herself. What a pile of doo-doo.
Why do we have to go into a "fit" before they agree to make things right?
Well, I have to get to work....have a good day and thanks for letting me vent.

Good Morning George & OFF Family!

Yesterday was an intensly busy and crazy day, I left home to get my bloodwork done at 7:40 a.m., as I hadn't gotten to it before 1 year post-op visit, after that I went to wait for PetSmart to open to get Dillinger his dog food and treats, then the gym, then TJMaxx to return something and of course see if there was anything else I might need or want, just came away with pumpkin spice coffee though, Target looking for something, stopped at a local pizza place to grab a slice of reg. thin slice they have there, to the Town office to grab my Permits package and as it's in the same building the library, then to the nail salon where I finally got my manicure which was 2 weeks overdue, stopped next door to Allstate to sign something for my renewal, BJs and then finally arrived home at 3:40 p.m. . . .  I put things away, walked the dog, series of phone calls about what we were doing (friends and I) for the evening and then walk out of the house to go out to dinner and a meeting.  Well, I get to my car, which is never locked when it is parked in my driveway, I have my pocketbook in one hand, a book I am returning to my friend in the other and realize that I have just locked my keys in the house. . .  I go to use my cell phone and it starts beeping because the battery is low, so hungry, stressed out, I call another friend who lives nearby, someone I was going to be picking up on the way to the meeting after me and other gal had dinner and ask if she can pick me up and take me to yet another friend's house who has a spare set of keys to my house (this friend is a nurse and still at work), you see I keep a spare set of her keys in my car, just in case I need to take care of her animals, so the other friend comes and takes me to get my spare keys, 45 minutes after this all began I get back in my house to find my roommate is home, after not being able to reach her to see if she was on her way home.  I cancel dinner plans, as it is too late now and I am starving, grab something to eat, after which head out to pick up my friend that I was going to have dinner with and head to a women's AA meeting. . .  after which we all hang out yapping in the parking lot for an hour (lol).  It's a long story, but I hope you are finding this comedy of errors funny, it was to me, but not while it was happening (lol).

Well today, hopefully, will be a much easier day, have a dentist appointment to have stitches taken out from where my implant was started 2 weeks ago, then visiting a friend and tonight I am going with friends to dinner at one of the friend's houses and the Walnut Street Theater production of Hairspray. . .

Hope you all have a wonderful day, my prayers and positive thoughts for all, Laureen

Good morning all!

I am going to a yoga class this morning.  Have never done this before, but always have though yoga sounded interesting.  We will see.....

I have a long drive today to go to have dinner with the United Methodist Men at a Conference Center.  It is an annual event and I go on Saturday night for dinner and the program.  Then drive back here getting here about 11PM.  Today it is even more important to go, as it is my husband and my 9th anniversary and he is there.

So it will be a busy day but very different.

hope you all have a good Saturday.

Good morning to you George and all my other OFF family. I hope that this Saturday morning is being good to everyone.

Nothing much is going on here this morning. Misty is laying on the back of the recliner and Bill is still snoring away in bed. I have been up for a while. Of course since this is Saturday morning I am watching "I Love Lucy" on TV Land. She is on today until 11 so I am a very happy camper. Nothing gets better to me than a Saturday (my favorite day of the week) and my favorite show. Life is not good, it is great!

Bill and I are going to the grocery store some time today. I am not sure if it is going to be in the morning or the afternoon. I am thinking the afternoon. I don't want to get a lot since there isn't much that I need or even have room for. I do need some cottage cheese. That is imperative! I have to figure out what I am making for our old Pastor's thank you celebration dinner at church tomorrow. I haven't the faintest idea what to take. I hate figuring out what to take.

The weather outside is nippy and cloudy. The wind is blowing and I really don't want to go out. But then what do we expect with the coming of winter. I dread winter coming but then with it coming when it ends spring will be back. If we can't be grateful for what is coming we just have to be grateful for what is going to be at the end.

My cousin Linda came over yesterday and we had such a nice visit. I haven't gotten together with her for a long time and I miss that. We use to get together and go to the library for the genealogy on my mom's side that we were working on. It seemed like no matter where we went for that work we were hitting brick walls. Oh how frustrating that was. We worked and worked and got no where. She started working on her mom's side and she has gotten all the way back to the 1100's and her family that was on the Mayflower. We are going to start working on our family trees again and I told her that I am taking a break from mom's and I am going to do dad's. I only have 1 cousin left from my dad's side and she will be happy to hear about any information that I get on our dad's family. My cousin Pam from my uncle on dad's side never knew her dad (my dad's brother) since he died before he even knew that she was going to coming. It is sad, and I couldn't imagine living with that thought. I am so fortunate that I had my dad even if it was only for 15 years.

I guess I had better get going. I am boring myself and so I can only imagine what all of you are doing. Probably snoring and I don't blame you for one minute.

I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are going up for all of you. Special ones are being said for those in need of them. Bring some sunshine into someones life today and remember to smile pretty.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Hi George and friends!
Saturday dawned much colder here!  Mom and I decided not to go to Ship****oday as her hips have been bothering her and after sitting in the car for 1.5-2 hours then walking around in the cold then another sitting session I think would make them act up even more.  I wanted to go see my buds but the more I think about how my paycheck didn't cover bills this time I guess I won't.  I think I really am going to have to break down and get a part time job.  IF I could find a room mate it would be great.  I have enough room for them, that's for sure!

Fortunately I have enough food frozen in the freezers to keep me for a while, just need to get the fresh stuff regularily.

Gary and I went to dinner last night then went to my parents to play cards.  Gary and my parents are good friends so it was a nice evening.
Not sure what today will bring, I have a small space heater warming up my craft room and may do some weaving or beading or something.

have a great Saturday all!

Good morning, it has been a few days since I read any posts.  I will be at it all day from the looks of how many there are.
Last Tuesday my son called me at work and asked how busy I was I could tell he was sick.  I took off work right away and went out and picked up my 2 yr old grandaughter.  Both my son and daughter in law were sick witht he stomach flu.  Later that night my grandduaghter got sick in Walmart (was buying diapers).  Next night  I got the bug, then my hubby and daughter.  I missed a lot of work but family comes first.

I did go to a new support group starting here in my town........yaa hooo no more driving miles and miles for support.I sure hope this one works out.  Only 4 of us there.

I think I have gained weight, I have no restriction...........next week I will go back to my surgeon so he can check on the band and hopefully will be able to start fills again.   A month ago he took out all the fluid since the band had slipped a little and I wasn't keeping anything solid down.

I ordered a winter coat...........here in Nebraska ya need one.  Well it came last week and I tried it on and it's too big..........so now I have to send it back...........was cold yesterday only wearing a sweater to work..........( I sold my coat I had for the last few years this summer on a garage sale).   I might look for one in Omaha on Tuesday when I go for my Dr.'s appt.,  before I reorder on and have to pay postage and shipping.

Hope everyone stays warm..........I need to get off the computer and get dressed.   I am getting to addicted to wearing my flanned mickey mouse pjs. on Sat. mornings........

Hi George and all...

Hmmm... I didn't make Georges list.... guess I gotta work harder

I just completed 3 online applications... one was for a merchandizer position and I was able to use the brand new shiny resume that Vera did for me! .... Goooooooooo VERA!!

Gotta tell ya.... that was one of the most interesting online applications I have ever encountered! .... without exxageration, it took me almost 2 hours to complete! I was hungry!.... I had to pee! .... my knee was almost in agony! .....my eyes were crossing!... my butt was asleep!.... and this thing was timed!!!!!

I am gonna tell ya... they probably elimanate a lot of people with that application... so many questions!.... then another section...more questions.... all those phychological ones too.... weird stuff... you know, like "If you wanted to abuse your dog, would you choose (a) a fork (b) a spoon (c) a knife or (d) a chainsaw".... that was easy, I always use a chainsaw

I am now going to take 7 or 8 hydrocodone and stare and the TV and drool a little...

....... then get that dog.... Muhuhahahah!!!!!!
