Hello OFF!

I have been off living life, but I stopped by to see who is hanging out.

I had a nice visit the other day with Janet and Candy.   Janet is my role model for courage and adventure!    Maybe someday I'll take advantage of the plastic surgery residency program, too.

Here's a flash!!   Next month I'll be on Medicare.  That is bizarre!

Life is good.  My only problem is my back. I have a pinched nerve and have tried lumbar steroid injections and now physical therapy which I hope will help.  So far, my only relief is pain medication, and I hate to be dependent on that.

I have a nice fella in my life and still fly away to Maryland and Georgia every couple of months to visit my children and grandchildren.  My son and his wife had RNY last fall.  They look wonderful.  Both have lost well over 100 pounds.  They are the ones who live in Maryland.

Life's an adventure and I am glad for WLS to help me enjoy it more.   I have gained 20 pounds since my lowest, and that troubles me greatly.  I am still 110 pounds less woman than I was 4 1/2 years ago in 2004 when I had WLS.    If you are a newbie, make the most of the first 12 to 18 months.  That's when your body is at it's most efficient at losing the weight.

I am so grateful for friends from the OFF who shared the journey.

Well, Dorothy, one of the best things in life is that we live so close we can visit.

I'm not sure about the courage part, but I'm up for an adventure anytime!!

I would encourage anyone with a teaching hospital to check out their residency programs for a number of things.  I would even think you could get WLS there, also but didn't as I didn't need it at the time.  Since Candy was here for me to show me how to handle this, I'll help you when you decide to have it done.

Yes, you DO have a nice fella in your life.  AND, you look soooo happy.

Candy and I were commenting about what a classy lady you were.

Okay, I'm rambling. Cabin fever.

Jan,

They are cash only, I think.  You might want to check..... medicare might not cover a residency program.  I know my insurance didn't and I had to pay two weeks prior to surgery.

Karen should be back from her cruise this weekend.  She left last week.  She got in the house and I'm sure she'll have tons to report as soon as she hits stateside and has internet.
