Friday - What's New (it's almost Friday anyway!)
Good almost morning everyone!
It's after 11:30pm and I just let the dogs in for the night. Would be nice to sleep in just a tad but Angus has a built in clock for 5:30am, EVERY am!
I took Thursday and Friday off, had this planned for quite a while, was going to go to a basketweaving weekend with my guild and another guild from the Dayton area, BUT no one to watch the dogs and really not enough $$ for it anyway. So I stayed home.
I did get some outside work done today, the back flower bed is now cleared and looks great. I transplanted 2 bushes in the process. I had one smaller one behind a larger one, and a larger one right in front of 2 other plants so changed them around. This will look better now I think!
My neighbor across the street has been just wonderful with all the leaves falling! he's mowed and moved them to the street twice, I raked the front yard into piles. I bought a tarp yesterday to haul the leaves out to the street and came home to find - yep, all the leaves out to the street already. Nice guy! His wife is a sweetheart too. I told him that when he gets ready to paint in the house to give me a call, I'm not a shabby painter!
Not much new on my end. Same old same old I guess. Hope all are doing well and chat on now you hear? See you later!

Good Friday morning Debbie and all you OFFers!
This is gonna be a long day. I am working 12 hours OT at my fulltime job. Going home for 11 hours, then coming back for 5 more hours of OT. But that will mean I can go to church on Sunday morning.
Penny (daughter) had her doc appt yesterday. She is due on 11/20. Doc said she is showing as 44 weeks. Her last baby was almost 10 lbs. This one will be induced on 11/11, if he/she is not here sooner.
Then Thursday Eddie is going to be in a Home Run Hitting Contest. And Saturday 11/15 is a tournament. He will play 3 games on Saturday. I promised him I would be there for all 3 games.
Have a good day.

Good morning, Debbie
Well, two Tylenol PM later (8 pm),it's 1:15 a.m. and I'm wide awake looking for Law & Order. Candy is convinced I don't sleep. I don't.
It's turned a little chilly in Texas..will be in the 70's tomorrow.....:)
I used to love the smell of burning leaves. My grandmother lived at the lake and had 4 lots. It was great to go over to her house and rake her leaves for her. (I wasn't a kid, I was in my 30's).
Friday will be just like Thursday. Putzing and sitting, putzing and sitting.... checking drains.
I may edit this later with more drivel.

Hi Deb and my OFF family:
Well, I would have been asleep ... I was ... but woke up gagging and coughing and then couldn't breathe. I guess this is an asthma attack .... have had episodes before I was actually diagnosed as having "mild asthma" by my wonderful allergist. This is the first time I have had to use my rescue inhaler. I wonder if that, with the wind blowing down all the leaves, and then the rain getting them all wet, all that mold on the leaves kicked up my allergies somehow. Or something I brought in from the garage as I was packing some boxes for the mail. Don't know ... sure was scary though. All the other times I was around people offering me water, help, etc. This time I was alone, with just the cats. Scooter hates it when I cough ... he runs away.
So when I started to cough and gag, I got up, tried some cough medicine ... it didn't have any effect. Tried a second dose, nothing. Then when into the living room, got on my glasses, got out my rescue inhaler, read the instructions, primed the thing and used it. In just a few seconds, I stopped coughing and started breathing normally. What an invention! But I sure am scared. It's going to take a few minutes for my heart to go back to normal.
Got some neat bargains at Meijer yesterday: a big light-up pumpkin 75 percent off -- it was originally $29.99, I got it for $7.49. It's gorgeous. Plus some other Halloween stuff I can squirrel away for secret pal or other occasions. I'm planning ahead. Bought some protein powder to use for protein balls, too. Work was just so-so, nothing big happening.
Well, that's all. I think I've stopped coughing, but don't know if I want to try lying down again. Still rather scared. Maybe I'll sit up for a few more minutes and watch some TV. Have a good day.

Hello Eileen,
Hope you are feeling better. Asthma is really scary. I have it but it has been under control for three years now. I started using Advair in haler and it has worked wonders for me. It has some nasty side effects but they are nothing compared to asthma attacks.
You take care of yourself. Nancy

I sooooo miss Meijer stores!!
And La Shish restaurants..... (I heard rumor they closed?)
And National Coney Islands......
Yep, beyond family those are the places I miss from Michigan that we don't find out here in Massachusetts.
I'm sorry to hear about your asthma attack. I just told my husband this morning that I wondered if the leaves and rain and possible mold were upsetting my respiratory system as well. I don't have asthma, but today I sure needed an antihistamine!

I never knew about Meijer stores before I moved here ... they are wonderful, much better than Wal-Mart. Such good deals!
I am feeling better today. I am so grateful that allergist recognized that I have asthma. I went to so many doctors who said there was nothing wrong with me and that my cough was self-induced, that all I had to do was stop coughing and it would go away. This allergist actually did something for me (well, it didn't hurt that I actually had an asthma attack in the office while they were doing a peak flow test!).
From spring to fall, I take four allergy meds: Allegra D, Singulair, FloVent inhaler and Astelin nasal spray. After the allergen counts go down, I take that down to just FloVent and Singulair. The rescue inhaler is there when I need it ... and boy, did I need it last night. I haven't used it since I got it a year ago. In fact, they had to give me a new prescription plus a new sample, and I used the new sample one. Very scary, though, especially being all alone like that.

Eileen, I hope by the time you read this you are feeling back to normal again. I bet it was the leaves and rain along with the mold that makes that sent your asthma into a whirlwind. I am glad that you got to your rescue inhaler and that worked it's magic. Thank God for medical help. Where would we be without them?
Sending love and hugs to you, my sister from another mother.

morning! TGIF !!!!!!!!!!!
debbie- oh gosh i wish i coulda helped you with the dogs so you could have gone to your guild weekend...however i have my own hands full here and you are a teensy drive away....it is so hard to think of ever going anywhere when we have our fur babies- specially the canines!!!!
eileen- make sure you carry that inhaler with you in your purse- that is frightening! i would be about 99 and 44/100% sure that it is the leaves and the wet....last nite, on our drive to plasma city, we noticed a leaf fire burning and the smoke was coming back down- michael told me that means low pressure coming- (love the knowledge i have gleaned from my farmer man!!) we already know from weather reports that we are due for showers and possibly that ucku stuff today and tomorrow...so i can imagine you are getting whopped form the weather and the falling leaves....
i got a raise! a whopping 39 cents per hour !!! whoo hooooooo --ok- so it's not a lot but i got it!! and it now gives me almost an extra hour pay at the old rate per pay period pre taxes --big whoopy--i'm sorry- i am grateful it's just hard to get excited about this!!!!!!!!!!!i am-really am- grateful for what i have i just need more.....and i know that i am not alone and i am sorry to keep whining...i really am sorry .....there- ok--now that is outta my system for a few minutes!i continue to pray about finding something more fulfilling and better pay and possibly bennies.....and i am looking--i know that it won't just fall outta the sky!!!!!
i also got a form letter yesterday from my super thanking me for applying for the deputy clerk job and saying that it was filled ...at least i was acknowledged! the juvenile /probate job there wasn't a letter....
ok-change the subject!!
last nite ; i found Patriot #12 !!!!! whoooooooooooooo hoooooooooooooo -THAT excites me!!!!!
yesterday, brody had to be crated when we left- oh mannnn,,,,he cried ...i could hear him before we left--i am such a sucker for that--roxie was down stairs with him so he wasn't alone-and they both were good kids and happy to see us when we returned...it just is hard for me!!!! i am hoping that ,with time , he will be able to run loose in the house when we leave- and someday i am hoping roxie will be able to as well...she is still too eager to get into mischief....right now both lazy bums are back on the bed with michael- we did the doggie dance at 530and then they left me for warmer cuddlier territory!!!
two nights now i haven't done any knitting before bed- i am going to have to get back in the groove tonite....Christmas presents.....
well- must get pretty for work...
hugs and prayers...............
