Good morning!

Just a brief, very brief note to say hello and thanks for all the prayers and outpouring of love for my surgery and recuperation.  It is going slow, my MS decided to flare from the insult of surgery and anaesthesia, but I am home, walking, sipping and generally getting very cranky because I cannot stay in one position any too long.  I am finally sleeping more than 2 hours at a time, thank heavens!!  My dear dad is taking such good care of me and my son, thanks be to God, isn't showing his typical adhd behavior since I have been home...
Today I go for my first post op visit with the doc and hope to graduate to things like scrambled eggs, cottage cheese and peanut butter.  I am wearing a size 22 stretch jean which zips just below the incision line and they are fairly comfortable.

Thanks again for all your advice, support, and prayers.
God Bless!
Patti

Patti, I am so glad that things are going pretty good for you. I know that at times it is slow going but just remember that slow growth is good growth. Just take it a step at a time and know that with each step you put in front of the other gets you to your goal.

It is wonderful that you are getting such good nursing care at home. That always helps too.

I am sending love and hugs and prayers for your great recuperation. You are well on your way to your wonderful and exciting life. Welcome to the losers bench. Isn't the seat comfy?

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Aloha Patti from your Hawaiian sister in the OFF

I am so happy for you!! You are now on the Loser's Bench and on your way to health, fitness and freedom in your body.

Be good to yourself. Nap when you need to, sip water constantly (I still do 2+ years out), walk as much as you can, and find little treats to give yourself pleasure. It won't be long and you'll be able to have more choices, and you'll be surprised at what DOESN'T taste good any longer. It's a blessing. First time I tried sugarfree ice cream I HATED it! I used to eat ice cream by the half gallon. Today I eat skinny cow ice cream sandwiches and am completely satisfied with that little treat in my life.

Good luck to you and come and play with us often! I'm not here as often as I used to be but that's because I have my life back....and am out doing things. It is a miracle!

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

P.S. Keep a pair of those size 22's.......someday not far off you'll fit into ONE LEG!!
