DISHWASHERS
thanks brenda...i rinsed them this time really good so will have to wait and see how they come out...don't think i am overloading it or covering up where the water comes out from...have to make sure from now on to pay closer attention...
my sister-in-law always washes her dishes before putting them in the dishwasher...makes my brother mad...lol

Good for you! I feel dishwashers are a necessity! I only run mine about every other day, because it is just my DH and I. The grandkids eat their snacks on paper plates. I have only ever had a dishwasher that disposes of extra bits if food. I never rinse first, I just scrape off the left over food into the trash and the dirty dish goes right into the dishwasher. Even if the dishes sit 2 days, they always get clean. I use the little pouch things with liquid on the top. Right now it is Cascade, I have used others (I get what's on sale or I have a coupon for). The key is - be sure your water is hot before you turn on the dishwasher. Run the water in the sink first until it is HOT. Then turn off the water and start your cycle. If you don't, the first few minutes of your cycle will be using cold/lukewarm water. Don't run on delay start. I also have my water heater set quite hot, I want my dishes sanitized (I also like a tub FULL of ho****er when I take a bath!)! If I have something really icky on them and I know I won't be running the dishwasher for a couple of days, I'll run the 'rinse and hold' cycle. I still refuse to rinse first. I always run the dishwasher on the 'pots and pans' cycle.
