DISHWASHERS

so i have a dishwasher in the apartment...never in my life have i had one other than human hands...what am i doing wrong? my dishes are still dirty when they come out!! i tried the electra sol dishwasher cube and they still do not get clean!!! if i have to wash them before i put them into the dishwasher whats the sense of having one??? any help here would be greatly appreciated!!!

My dishwasher had a filter in the bottom that had to be cleaned every week or so.  It is an older model so I don't know about yours.  As long as I cleaned it they would come out great!!

filter in the bottom...hummmm ooook will have to go look for that after its done re-washing the dishes!!!!

I should have said that I had to take out the bottom rack, lift the propeller looking thing out ot the bottom and the filter lifted right out. Just brushed it with on old toothbrush over the trash can and rinsed it off.  Anyway that is the way mine was made.

I rinse the food off my plates and make sure they pretty clean before putting them in the dishwasher. I use mine mainly for sterilizing the dishes, less sickness in the house when I use it.

i rinse mine also but i guess maybe not good enough?? this being new to a dishwasher sure isn't cracked up what i thought it would be...LOL

Hey Judy,
I use the electrosol cubes too and don't have a problem. Are you setting the cycle on "normal"? I always rinse my dishes since my dishwasher isn't one of the fancy dancy ones that can handle food left on them. Could be the dishwasher. 

i use the heavy duty cycle on ours...guess i have to "rinse" them off better...lol

Judy, I rinse my dishes and get most of the gunk off them. Then you have to make sure that you aren't over loading the dishwasher either. That will interrupt with the cleaning too. Make sure you aren't covering anywhere the water comes out too. It maybe the dishwasher too and you might have to call the apartment office and tell them that the dishwasher isn't working right.

Hope that things go better for you and the dishes. I remember when we got our first one at home and mom made us wash the dishes first. I hated that and told her it was nuts but to this day I feel like most of the time I still wash them. Just not with soap. Old habits die hard~especially the ones that mom teaches us!
