What's New Wednesday? We have a new president
Hi Eileen and everyone!
I'm happy about the election also! My daughter was telling me last night that she is in awe that I've witnessed such changes in history up close and personal. It is true- what an amazing life we have had so far! I'm thrilled that we have elected an African-American president.... a woman would have been great also.
I'm off to work in a few minutes but just wanted to say Hi. The only big thing going on for me this week is the preparation for kitchen remodeling. The new cabinets will be delivered this Friday and demolition can't be far behind.
Grand Cayman was glorious for two days and windy and storming for the last 5 days! We had fun anyway! It was a beautiful place and a mostly relaxing vacation!

Aloha my OFF family.......
It is early and I'm off to work soon, but just had to pop in and say Aloha, and to share joy over the change our country has made. Maybe some of you heard the shouts of joy coming all the way from Hawaii when the contest winner was announced. Our new president is from Hawaii after all!! This strong man has inherited a huge mess to try and clean up, but if he surrounds himself with equally good people, I think we have a chance.
I'm wearing my size 8 jeans today....and always have to smile inside when I slide them on.........is just still seems impossible that I can look at those jeans in my hands and think "no way can I get those on" and then they slip right over my formerly bodacious buh-tocks easily. I am thankful!
Off I go........happy and hoping that you all have a wonderful day, and that something magical happens for you today.
Aloha nui loa,
Maui Karen

Greetings fellow citizens, Our new president has much work to do. Let's assist as we can by reaching out to those in need, smiling at those we pass on the street, volunteering to help as we can. It's a long, long road to get our standing back in the global community but it can be a joyous one.
I found much to identify with in today's posts. Needless to say I also have challenges in my life now. But I prefer to dwell on that which is positive for what we focus on is what we receive.
Have hit a weight loss stall which I've read is fairly normal at three weeks out and I've been trying new foods. Made a heavenly grilled salmon filet with asparagus last night and I have it again for lunch today. Still trying to get the exercise, vitamins & meds, food, water routine down pat.
Got lab work this morning for what will hopefully be the last Fresno Dr. trip on Monday. Weather is clear and sunny but into the 40s at night.
I also ended my relationship with Gil. We had fun and I am sad but it wasn't going to work long term for us. So space has been freed up for something better that is coming.
Life goes on with anticipation and joy, CV Linda

Hello Everybody,
I am so happy today. I prayed that Obama would win. I have to say McCain was so gracious. If that McCain had been the man during the race to the White House, maybe the results would of been different. I worked for Obama by calling people. The negativity out there was frightening. I pray God protects Obama and that he can pull this country back on track.
We are in for some nasty weather in the next couple of days. There is snow in the forcast with strong winds. It will be nice for the weekend---but cold. The deer hunters will be happy for the snow so that tracking will be easier.
I hope everybody has a great day.

Laureen, I am so sorry to hear about your relationship,Allow yourself to grieve. I am so glad you stood up for yourself, took me 2 years to finally do it but I am soo soo much happier. Just seeing Chuck now and then, and on MY terms is great. he is still having a hard time with it and tries to pull the manipulation crap now and then but I have the freedom and strength to turn away from it.
I do usually go to Chucks on Tuesdays as we watch the Biggest Loser together. Last night Liz and Ray came up, Ray helped us get the pool put away. I made steaks and Pork Chops on the grill. 74 degrees yesterday by friday we may be seeing snow flurries, so it was our last summer hurrah, considering it was November it was a nice bonus.
Going to go get a flu shot. As for politics.. My mom taught me if you can't say anything nice, say nothing..................Have a blessed day

Laureen all I can say is hugs!
Had a nice visit with Margo, Michael & their fur & feather kids. My grand daughters were just thrilled with the birds. They are beautiful and well behaved. Lexi talked about it all the way home and I'm sure she will be sharing with her class today. They absolutely loved it when they said good bye!! As far as my bed it was a little empty last night without Brody. I guess I felt like he was sleeping in a little ball when the rest of them take up so much space. I have a few more that are looking for nice warm beds to share.
Eileen how you get to feeling better.
I hope everyone is having a good day!

Hi Eileen.....God Bless America and God Bless this wonderful humble man we just elected to lead us......I loved watchng the crowd at Grant Park....all colors of the rainbow and all creeds.....I am so happy and I can say I worked very hard in this campaign. I thought it was soooo telling of the kind of man he is by the note he sent out to his workers last night right after John McCain's very gracious Concession spech last night. I am afraid if many of us had seen that John McCain in the campaign....we might not be celebrating Obama's victory. [may I say that I voted for McCain in the primary election, but the more I studied about him and Obama...the more I knew I had to back Obama]
Love, Marti

Marti-
I'm about to head to Grant Park to talk to everyone gathered there, but I wanted to write to you first.
We just made history.
And I don't want you to forget how we did it.
You made history every single day during this campaign -- every day you knocked on doors, made a donation, or talked to your family, friends, and neighbors about why you believe it's time for change.
I want to thank all of you who gave your time, talent, and passion to this campaign.
We have a lot of work to do to get our country back on track, and I'll be in touch soon about what comes next.
But I want to be very clear about one thing...
All of this happened because of you.
Thank you,
Barack
