Morning all!

We are going to the State Farm building to take a Senior's driving course.  (I'm 55 so I guess I am one for sure).  This is supposed to give us a discount on our car insurance.  We go from 9-1 today and also Wednesday.

This is my day off so I will stop by the grocery store and after I put things away will go to vote.

i don't like politics, but must say I am interested in how this all turns out.  I just pray that we as Americans will get our act together, support the government we elect and then begin to heal this country.  God help us.

Have a good day everyone.

Blessings,

Good Morning All!
Worked my 15hrs yesterday, got home at 11pm now up to go vote. I'm just waiting for my hair to dry alittle more. Outstanding weather here last few days...mid 70's today which will break a record for this day. Perfect day to vote if there are long lines it will be nice to enjoy the weather. Snow next wk again so I'm lovin' it now.
I still have to mow my lawn one more time before winter...hoping to do that tomorrow cuz I work 12hrs today. So nice to have my windows open...in November!!!
Looking forward to Thanksgiving...my son will be home from college, and my daughter and her family will be here from Virginia. So excited to see my 3 granddaughters again...it's been a year! I've asked for a couple days off that wk so I can visit with them..hope I get them...if seniority means anything I should. I haven't told my daughter about my upcoming surgery yet...my son knows tho and he's excited for me but also not happy that he cannot be here for the surgery. I held off telling him cuz he's so busy with school and this yr is so intense that I did not want to distract him. I'm looking forward to his June wedding when I can be slim and comfortable and not look like a stuffed sausage like I did at my daughters' weddings.
Gotta go vote...not sure how long the lines will be but the poles just opened at 0700.
Have a great day and oh yeah....Starbucks is giving a free large "brewed" coffee to anyone that has voted today. Saw that on TV Sunday nite.

Judy:

Decided to just buy a new chair ... too expensive to have it fixed, and by the time I spend $75 just to have them come out to look at the thing (nonrefundable) and then another $69.95 to have them take it away if they can't fix it here, I might as well buy a new chair. So I'm going to use my triple time check from Thanksgiving for that.

Good morning friends,

Election day here in New England has dawned with a beautiful, sunny fall day!  Current temps are about 49 degrees.  Highs are expected in the 60s!  Gotta love that!!

Talked to my (almost 5 yr old) grandson, Gavin, on the phone last night.  Does anyone else have trouble understanding your grandchildren on the phone?  Sheesh!  He talks so fast, it's like all the words just get jumbled together.  In person, I understand him just fine.  The phone... a whole other story!  I wish I was able to see him more often in person... they live in Kansas.  Not an easy trip from Boston.  Flights are so expensive right now, I haven't been out there in over a year.  Thank goodness for phones and the internet!

Hubby and I will go vote after work tonight.  It'll be our first election since moving to Massachusetts, so with all the hoopla about voting this election... I have no idea what to expect.  I really do hate the hassle of voting.... do you think they'll ever find a safe/secure way for us to vote online??  That would be my choice!

Hopefully voting will not delay me from getting to my water aerobics class tonight.  I didn't go last Saturday, and am looking forward to going tonight.

Rumors are flying at work and in the news that the company I work for is in for a major lay-off before the end of the year.  I talked to my boss about it yesterday, and he confirmed it to be true.  He said no department in the company (about 45,000 employees world wide) will be untouched.  Having said as much, I hope he and I survive the upcoming re-org.  He is a SVP, and has said his level of peers is being reduced and consolidated.  If he loses his job... I lose mine.  I'm his EA.  Keep your fingers crossed we both survive.......

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Vicky

Hope you don't lose your job Vicky. I know things are tough all over. We are having restructuring at my office too ... just waiting to see what they do to the copy desk. My brother works for AIG, and his unit (the life insurance part) is one of the more profitable ones so it's being sold. If it's sold to another life insurance company, he's probably out of a job. He's 56, so try finding another job at that age. I hope whoever becomes president can do something to fix this economy. It really sucks.

Thank you for your kind thoughts, Eileen.  I think it's the waiting game that's so hard to deal with.  Could it be possible that they (the powers that be at any organization) are waiting until AFTER this election to decide exactly what to do?

I wish your brother the best in retaining his job.  I don't look at 56 as old...... but the job market does seem to want to attract those under 40.  I'm 52, so wonder what my opportunities will be as well.  Thankfully, I have many talents I can draw from.

Tuesday, lovely Tuesday.  Rainy, windy and ugly out.  I hope the weather doesn't keep voters home.  I voted early, but I know many prefer to vote on the day of.  Doesn't matter, as long as we all vote.  I do get upset though, when the news says, so and so is losing/winning.  Folks that haven't voted may think their vote won't count because it's all been decided.  VOTE ANYWAYS!  You never know.

Tonight is our area WLS meeting at Logan's.  Yummy!  I've missed the last 2, so looking forward to seeing all the changes tonight!

One of the grandsons went to Duke yesterday to have his knee looked at by a pediatric orthopedic surgeon.  He seems to think he may not need a bone graft.  The local surgean removed 2 pieces of dead bone during the arthroscopic surgery last month, and that may be all he needs.  PT, get the swelling down and hope he continues to heal.

That's about it.  The wind is cleaning off some of the colored leaves, so now the yards are getting full (so are my gutters!)

Good Morning OFF Family,

Just a quick pop-in now. I'll try to post later.  Waiting for Earl to finish showering and get dressed so we can go vote.  Our SIL just called to say when he went there a half hour ago there was no one there waiting , in and out real quick.  Our town had really encouraged early voting so I'm thinking alot of people did that or are waiting til after work to vote.  We had too much going on to get over to vote early.  After voting we'll go to Jen's to get the girls bedroom painted.  It's about 1/3 of the way done.

The new hard wood floor gets installed on Friday. the girls are so excited about having their own room again. And so is their mom.  Our daughter has not been sleeping well, sharing a bed with two active girls.  and Sami flings her arm with the cast around during the night so someone usually gets bumped with it.

Hugs, Paulette
