What's New Tuesday? Don't Forget to Vote!

Hi my OFF Family!

It's Tuesday morning here. The polls will open in just seven hours ... I think they open at 8 a.m. ... I'm not up at that time, so I'm not sure. I don't get up til after 10 usually. Depends on when I get to sleep. Probably after 2 or 3 a.m. today. I'm pretty tired but then I'm also ticked off at my recliner problems, so I might be tossing and turning over that ... read my other post if you're not sure what I'm talking about.

Fairly low-key night at work. After I got in late after waiting for the furniture repair man, who then couldn't fix my recliner, I started in on my day's tasks. The person who usually does the set-up work for the briefs package hadn't done it. Or, if she had done it, the page got purged from the system. Anyway, it wasn't there and I had no way to search for it. So we went without that and just used a standalone photo. Probably looks better anyway. Just made my day at work start out on the wrong foot, and considering the day wasn't going right as it was, that didn't help.

Then, I had multiple computer freeze-ups (our pagination system likes to do this, forcing you to reboot the program and eliciting a string of ... well, you can guess from me ... it's probably better that I work nights ... nobody can hear me). The person who was supposed to do the business names and faces set-up work for me failed to do that, too. I still got out of there at 11:30, an hour early, but if I hadn't had to do everyone else's work, I would have been out even earlier.

Did you know if you vote today and go to Starbucks and say you voted, you can get a free beverage? Just thought I'd close with that and let you know.

Don't forget to vote! I don't care who you vote for, as long as you vote. It's your civic duty.

with absentee ballot & encourage everyone to get out & vote if you haven't already!!!  We are so priviledged in this county to be able to have our vote count.    I think most people are pretty passionate about their choices in this election, so hopefully we'll have a good turnout.    I don't want to get political here, but I sure hope you all agree with my choices & they all win !!!

Hello Eileen and Everybody,

I voted two weeks ago by absentee ballot. This has been an exciting election year---even with all the negative adds and speeches. I hope that the ones I voted for win,but whoever wins I pray he can pull the country together so we can solve the huge problems confronting this country.

Don't have much planned for today. My days are long with plenty of time on my hands. Being disabled and not being able to drive lessens my options. I do get a lot of reading in and I love my computer and this board. I got to vounteer to make phone calls for my canidate this year. I get out twice a week---one for my group and one for the nursinghome where I get to read to the clients. That's pretty much my week. Weekends are much more busy. My son is home and he keeps me moving and modivated. I watch Nascar races and Viking football.

That's it. Everybody take care. Nancy

Hello you all.  Hope you are having a good day.

Yesterday my wife was the nicest person in the world to me.  Since she totaled the last car, I have not had XM in the car.  This week is the General Managers Meetings in baseball.  I really miss my XM during this time.  I had a little extra money in the account. So I asked her to go get XM installed for me.  She spent from 9:30AM until 2:30 PM at the Audio Depot.  Finally got it installed.  Glad she loves me.

Yesterday, I received my Secret Pal package from Judy.  She is now the only woman outside of my wife in my adult life that has bought me underwear.  She got me a pair of baseball boxers.  Then she asked for pictures.  Hmmmm.  Not so sure my wife would go for that.  Thanks again Judy.

I had every intention of voting today.  Mary and I always vote on Election Day.  The only problem today is Mary will have the car at work.  She gets off at 2PM, will then pick me up and we will go see if there is a line for voting.  If there is no line (this will be about 2:35 or so, we will vote, then she has a 3:30 doctor's appointment.  Then I have to get her home and get out to work.  Busy, busy, busy.

See y 'all later.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

i will be out there and voting for sure.  im going after work i think since there is a polling place right in the adult community i live in, that after work will be quicker.  im guessing all the truly retired people will have all day to vote before me.

hope im right

hey everyone, be safe and well, jacki

Good early morning everyone!

Eileen, sorry about your recliner. We just sold two.  Wish we had been closer, I would have given you one!

George, the boxers sound pretty funny. I, for one, won't ask for photos...LOL

The neighbor dog barked most of the night, and at 4:30 I said  to he*** with it and got up. Of course, he's quiet now, but I'm drinking my latte and there's no hope of going back to bed.  Oh well, I don't get much of a chance to be here with all of you, so I guess it's really a blessing.

The new company ha**** a bump in the road. Six weeks ago, after waiting for 4 weeks for our other graphic designer to work on our labels, we hired a new guy. When I told him we wanted to have products in the store by Oct 1 (it was late Sept by then) but knew it was a stretch, he said we shouldn't ;be too far off schedule. Well, here we are, still no labels, products on the shelves with stickey notes instead, and the bills are mounting. ARGHHHHHHH To make matters worse business at the salon has bottomed out....not a single client on the books today or Friday. Maybe after the election today things will pick up.

Speaking of elections, we have early voting here in AR which is something we don't have in CA. I went and voted last week, and while it's nice to have it out of the way, there's something about the ritual and tradition of voting ON election day. Next go around I'm waiting!  Makes me feel more a part of the process.

Okay lovies, have a great day one and all!

Susan

Well, that's the second offer of a recliner. Called La-Z-Boy today and made an appointment, then called them back and canceled it. It would have cost $75 (nonrefundable) just to have them come out, then $69.95 if they had to take the chair into the shop, then labor costs. I thought by the time I got done, I might as well buy a new chair.

we decided to wait til after work today to vote--had originally planned to go at crack of dawn-the voting place is a block away at the church...but decided to wait so as to have more time to do so and do it properly! i work only til noon and have to hit the library and then we'll vote before coming home for lunch....i tend to think that voting early would take away some of the "fun" of election day as well as susan thinks..and i worry that the early votes will somehow not get counted or some such--i was soooooooooooooooooooooooo disturbed in 2000 with the florida stuff about al gore --and so i am leary of different tactics!

yesterday; my supervisor emailed to tell us he is in columbus til weds with his daughter ( she is getting some kind of cancer treatment and has to stay in hospital a month??? this is after the stem cell harvest of a few weeks ago???) ; then he e's and tells us that we will work the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas--yippee--NOT---hoping that he will allow us to make up the time at other days and not have to be there those two days......

we haven't gotten our new dog yet- am hoping nothing is wrong on the other end- haven't heard anything in a few days from the gal form whom we are getting him-they have an ill family member so maybe they took a trip south to see her...anyhow- no pics yet annette!!!

i really don't know much else this morning-

sending hugs and prayers

and please DO vote cuz i am one of those 47 million Americans without health insurance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

No early voting here ... pretty long lines, at least at the church across the road from the golf course where I live. I had to stand in line for a good half hour, and that's not easy for me. I wish I had brought my cane with the fold-out seat along, as well as a bottle of water.

But I'm glad to see so many people taking their civic duty seriously this time around. I would rather have lines to wait in than have people shirk this duty and not vote. I have always voted in the main elections (I don't vote in primaries because I don't declare a party). I feel if we don't exercise our right to vote, we will lose it. There are so many countries who don't have this right. We are privileged to have the right to vote.

Margo, I hope your new doggie gets to your home soon.

Morning Eileen and all,

Brenda and I arrived at the polls at 5:35 this morning.  We were the 15/16th in line.  We were at a new polling place for us and it was so disorganized.  They had one table for all the precincts and only 6 ballot machines.  No wonder people get so upset.  Glad I went early tho.

Couple more days and I will be in my new job.  I'm already doing some of the new work, but mostly just cleaning out files and packing.  I'm really looking forward to the new job.  They want me to go to Columbus Ohio next week for two days, but I'm not sure my back/leg can take the 3 hour drive.  We'll have to see what happens.

Hope everyone has a nice Election Day!
