IT'S MONDAY - What's new with you????
Good morning everyone!! Want to apologize, because today I just do not have the time to do my normal review. A lot of stuff still to do.
Sunday was good to me. Got 6 hours sleep. Then my Jets won and the Cowgirls lost. What a great football afternoon!!!
I will be back, much later today.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
My work notes are due this morning but I procrastinated and they are all blank. Kind of like my brain this morning. This time change has never agreed with me.
So, I am stopping in to say "hello" and off to the paperwork.
Kisses

yesterday was an interesting day...baby alaina was a doll baby!!! she loved the birthday party gig and was getting good at the present opening so she should be fun at Christmas!!!!! took lotsa pics and left my camera there! it is not all sweetness and love at the other grandparents house- the added 4 ppl ( my son, DIL and two grands {age 3 and now 1}plus two dogs who are living in garage) is really wearing thin and no end in site of the house out here getting sold....there was a blow up on friday i don't know details and it's probly better that way but all parties involved are not happy campers......
also yesterday; i drove over to my old house- it was two blocks from the party- got permission from my ex's wife to go in...i needed some closure on the house before they sell it..i had bought it for us when my adopted mom died and we basically raised our kids there ( bought in 1984 and i moved out in 1999). michael was with me and so i maybe didn't stay as long as i had wanted- i would have loved to sit on the floor in a couple of the rooms and ponder...i am ok now with the house being sold and it def was not MY house anymore!...growing pains.......i am good........i did open and close the kitchen cupboard doors one more time- loved the sound of those old cupboards.....
so today is work and michael has therapy- the afternoon is open right now....i need to do a few things online and catch up with one of the DAR gals to take some supplies for the genealogical workshop that is being conducted on wednesday......
michael had phone calls from his son and daughter , my mom and his (our) sis in law ;my son gave him some lil hershey bars and a cookie cake and my daughter hugged him extra tight so he is good...we talked about what he was so upset about on saturday and life will go on .....he IS feeling very old tho ......
ok- off to get pretty for my job which i despise yet they do pay me so i am grateful.........
hugs and prayers...............
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

I am going to sneak away from her and get me a black leather skirt ... hee hee. I am sooooooo ready for it! I am looking really long and slender and am wearing size 12s and mediums! YAY!!!!!!!!! Fortunately I am 5'8" (long legs)!

It's Monday! Hooray! The last day we have to listen to political ads, and fear phone calls (it may be a political one). But I do have to say, if you haven't voted yet, please do.
Yesterday's 'practice' Thanksgiving dinner was a real hit. I used all brand new recipes. I hate to try those on a big day, in case they flop! The brined turkey was THE MOST moist turkey any of us had ever eaten. Everyone, except me, would rather have the traditional candied yams, rather than the less sweet ones I tried. They liked, and ate, the new ones, just preferred the old ones. Our DIL brought a very yummy apple crisp. The barnd new part of that is, I have never NOT made a dessert!
Today our son and DIL take their youngest to Duke for a consult on his knee. He has osteochondritis dissicans. He may need a bone graft. The surgeon they spoke with here has little experience with this kind of thing on a child whose growth plates have not closed. Four years ago he got an infection in the other knee, that went on for a very long time. They finally took him by ambulance to VA for surgery. So they are being VERY proactive this time.
I have nothing I HAVE to do today. I love retirement!
My son, Tom, has split from his girlfriend of a couple years but is moving towarda new life now. He wants to stay in Missouri for his job. He's put his stuff in storage and rented a motel over the weekend. He's a semi truck driver and only needs a place to live on weekends so he'll look for an efficiency apartment next weekend. Had to use money earmarked for his truck payment to finance this unexpected move though.
My daughter, Sara, her man Harley and the grandkids are doing well in Oregon although they're having money problems too. I'm planning to drive up there over the Thanksgiving holiday. I'm thankful to still have a job for I fear these two will never be totally independent of occasional financial assistance.
Our first significant rain of the season usually brings down a tree or two and a power line. I was without electricity Saturday night through early Sunday afternoon. Sunday morning I lit candles, made a fire in the woodstoveand heated water for instant coffee there. Nice to have the dust washed off everything however and the plants seem much happier now.
Another busy work week for me. I'm feeling good and enthused about a slimmer future. Thirty pounds gone now!
Love and blessings to all, Linda
Yes...another Monday.....why do the weekends have to go so fast!!
I don't really have much of anything to report. As everyone knows I had a fabulous Halloween...the party was so much fun!!
Saturday morning I drove to another town to meet up with some other OH friends from the MN board. We had coffee, went shopping and had lunch together. What a great bunch of ladies!! I only see that group about twice a year so there was so much to catch on.
Sunday I stayed home most of the day. Went out to get a newspaper and a Latte. Stopped at the salon to tan....need to feel the heat more then anything. I then went and picked up a friend and took her to get her car. She had left it at work Friday. I ended up in ER with her Friday and they did emergency surgery on her to remove a large kidney stone that would not pass. She was feeling so much better yesterday. The rest of Sunday I didn't do a darn thing...that felt good!!
Still waiting on news about Kyleigh's (granddaughter) diagnosis....should hear more today. She sounded better yesterday.
Hope you all have a blessed and beautiful day!!
Prayers, love and hugs to all........connie d
Well I did it again -- wide awake at 5 a.m. I got up, went potty and took my thyroid pill and went back to bed.....laid there until 5:45 and finally got up.
Today is laundry this afternoon....everything is nicely sorted in the baskets ready to take out to the washer and get clean. Can't figure out how one lady can have so many dirty clothes....honestly! Usually only do towels every ten days and that hamper is full to the top, so that's on the agenda for tomorrow morning.
Got my first cross stitch towel nearly done....started on the back stitching last evening and thought my floss was awfully short....turned my work over and there was a great big knot on the back....sooooo, had to rip it all out....was so angry, I just put it up and will start again this afternoon.....won't take long as the design is small. Have already picked out the next design for one of the big towels someone sent me -- Carla, I think!
I'm at work.....there were no pd files on my cart to bring down....but they were all partying on Friday for Halloween, so I'm not surprised.
Have plenty stacked up on my table to work on tho' so that's good.
Made cottage cheese pancakes for breakfast this morning --- someone posted the recipe here or on the Michigan board....anyway they are awesome....however, using 2 eggs adds 10 gm. of fat, so I will get some egg beaters instead as they have no fat. Next time I make them I will add some of my frozen blueberries.....yummo!
Better get busy now...
