Update on Janet
Janet left two messages on my machine yesterday while I was at work. She sounded great, albeit a little dry in the mouth. Said they'd gotten her up three times to walk, and she was feeling pretty good. We all know why that is.
"Can you give me 'pump' for $1000, Alex? Answer, 'What is Happy Juice?'"
Anyhow, she called bright and early this morning. The doctor is going to have her stay a little later today, probably because she's had nothing to eat but ice chips so far. She has 4 drains, binder is in place. 12 lbs of skin, and 4 of fat from the lipo. I guess they threw the lipo in for free. The doc said her surgery looks nicer than any he's done. He must like redheads. He said no belly button ring for a year. I'm sure she'll be ready by then. Hell, she's ready now! She can shower tomorrow, and can do Starbucks if she gets a ride. That, I imagine, will be my job. Chief cook and chauffer. And whatever else.
She really sounds good. Says the pain is manageable, and when she looks down she gets all happy, even with the swelling and the drains. I have a feeling that under that skin was a very tiny lady.
I asked her when she was going to schedule the upper lift and the girls, and she laughed. But I think it hurt... Sorry, Thelma.
Anyhow, I just printed off my boarding passes, and have to re-pack the suitcase. Out with the jeans and in with the crop pants. 80's are planned for the week. It's in the mid-30's-40's here. All that, and Janet, too. What more could a girl ask?
I'll update after I see her. Keep the cards and letters coming. Email or snail mail, she deserves all of 'em! I'll be picking up her snail mail every day.)
Everyone have a great weekend.
It's supposed to be 82 in Dallas today. Be still my heart!

First post I read this early a.m. (4:00) was yours, and what a post it was!! Janet went through a major surgery and still has that quirky sense of humor. I can see why the two of you get along so famously. I also read her son's post and see that he has been given her funny bone, too!
Please give Janet a hug for me (very very gentle) and have her give you one back from me. I'm so glad that you have each other.
Aloha nui loa,

Janet's son Mike here...
I went and saw her last night and boy could I tell she was feeling better. She's getting some color back in her face. (She was a little pale - almost green when she came out of surgery. But I guess that's blood loss for ya.)
She felt good enough that we could play a game of Farkel on the bedtable. I won handily. I also take candy from babies.
It's about 11am here now, and they said she could go home after lunch. I'm still straightening up the house, but stopped to give you all an update.
Candy, you probably are going to leave for the airport soon, so I'll just let you know now that I've got the windows open and the weather is gorgeous. I think the fresh air will do both of you a lot of good!
Hopefully she'll feel well enough to post when she gets home.
