Hi Sylvia.  Congratulations to you and thanks so much for the words of encouragement.  My surgery is just around the corner and I am trying to stay calm and positive.

I will keep you posted.

Hi, Laya,

I had lap RNY 3.5 years ago.  I had High b/p, diabetes II, incontinence, apnea, pain in my lower joints, wheezed when I walked, had to sit on a stool to do the dishes, etc., etc., etc.

Within a month I had cut my meds to where I was no longer taking any diabetes meds and was at 50% on my bp meds.  By 5 months, I was totally off all meds except for my vitamins and supplements.  I had hit the 100# mark by that time as well (that included pre-surgery weight loss, too).

I was also insulin resistant.  I'm healthier than I had been for many years.

Most of my weight was around the middle, and my doctor didn't seem to have any difficulty.

I think you'll be absolutely amazed at how well you'll feel.  I look forward to reading all your fun posts about your WOW! moments to come.

Good luck!
