HALLELUAH!! It's the weekend - what's new with you
I gave two tests today to my law and security students who are taking a soc class with me. That means that I will have my weekend filled with marking.

Lots of trick or treaters tonight.

I have withdrawn my appeal of my health insurer provider's denial of the duodenal switch for me. I am grateful now as I think that that surgery may have been too much for me. I will have to find time on the weekend to fill out a new application for the VSG and then take it to my doctor sometime in the next two weeks. My doctor thinks that, because I was turned down for the DS, that I will be turned for all bariatric surgeries; I don't agree with him and I am determined to find some way to have the VSG, hopefully through OHIP so that it won't cost me anything. It's hard

Annette - I am so inspired by your two year anniversary of your surgery. You are really an inspiration to the rest of us who are waiting for surgery.
Have a blessed and blissful weekend!!
Hugs, Margaret

Good morning Margaret and all you OFFers!
Mary said not one kid stopped at our house. Which was expected because we had the light off. But, she was watching outside and saw no trick or treaters.
I am working overtime right now. Get off at 6:15, then go home to get some sleep. I have gone 4 days in a row with 4 hours of sleep. Something has woken me up at noon every day this week. Grrr. Saturday I hope to get some sleep. At 6PM have to be in Fort Worth for my Employee Appreciation function. Have to be to work at midnight for overtime. 8 more hours. Then home for 3 or so hours of sleep. Out to McCormick and Schmidt for my free dinner. Home to nap/watch Cowboys. Back to work at 9:45PM Sunday.
That's my weekend in a nutshell. I also found a possible problem here. My Jets are on TV here in Dallas at noon Sunday. So, I will probably DVR both games. Then watch my Jets when I get home (I can watch the whole game in an hour or so), follow it up with the DVRd Cowboy game.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
It certainly is nice to wake up to you today and I hope that your journey towards WLS gets you where you hope to be and in the meantime, you will certainly have friendships and support from the people on this board!
Well I went and bought candy for the trick or treaters and when I got home, found that they were having a parade on Main Street, whereby all the stores set up and give out treats to the neighborhood children, this is great, however, I had plans for dinner and a meeting with a friend, so by the time I was leaving, not one child showed up at my door, so I just brought back the big bag of candy I had bought at BJs, since I certainly did not need it in this house and knew I would not be home until after curfew time, which my town has to make sure nothing gets out of hand. This town has a low crime rate too, however, kids will be kids and the older ones can get get full of mischief, so we have an 8 or 9 p.m. curfew for Halloween.
I had my year post-op visit with my surgeon yesterday and the short of it was she is very pleased with my progress and the changes I've made in my life over the last year, for the longer story, feel free to check out the post I made to my profile. I am ok with where I am right now and look forward to reaching my goal sometime in the future.
Today is a big day, the first Saturday support group meeting where I had my surgery and I will be one of the co-leaders, can't wait to see all the people who will show up there today, as it is open not just to people who have had their surgery at our facility, but to anyone who is on this journey and needs support, from pre-ops to lapbanders and there will be groups broken up to various stages, as well a lapbander and there is even talk of a support group for the spouses/family members of WLS people.
In the meantime I have a few things I need to do before I leave, as I have to meet up with everyone at 9:30 to set up, discuss topics and have an early lunch before the meeting begins at 12, so that kind of puts me in a spot, since my yesterday was taken up by things I had to do which did not reflect household stuff, so I need to vacuum, change the linens, do a load of laundry, run to get my bloodwork done, which I didn't have a slip for yesterday's meeting with my surgeon and then head off for the meeting, after which I will be meeting Tony and spending the rest hanging out with him.
So I better get moving if I'm going to get it all done. . .
Hugs, prayers and positive thoughts, Laureen

I must rant a bit - My youngest daughter, Lori, works part time as a paramedic and it has to work around my schedule because I watch Mattie who is 19 months. I was to watch Mattie today, so I fixed my food stuff last night, went to bed and set the alarm clock. Got up this morning and took my shower and when I got out saw that the phone had rung and there was a message. Lori had called to say that Joey (her husband and father of Mattie) was not going to work today and he would watch Mattie. Duh??? I got up and didn't need to.
I am trying to look at this in a positive light. I do need to do a few things to make my life easier during the week. I also want to try a couple of new recipes. And I will try to read in that sociology book as next weekend is the first online test. And of course, I can go back to bed....
I have bought some of the sugar-free syrups this week and I am going to try to make mango protein ice cream - I haven't tried any of the ice creams that eggface posts about, but today is the day.
George, I don't know how you manage with so little sleep. I have found that my sleep and my weight loss go hand in hand and if I don't get the sleep, then I suffer in all areas. But I have done the same thing as you when I worked 2 jobs. Thankfully I retired from one and just have one and it is PRN - meaning as needed - when I sign up. But you gotta do what you gotta do, huh??
I hope to get outside and do some yard work and get the flower beds in some sort of condition - right now they are in poor condition and fair would be a great improvement. LOL
Take care and have a great weekend !
