Congrats on your two-year anniversary, Annette! Fortunately our hospital, Spectrum Blodgett, has special gowns for bariatric patients. The bariatric wing also has bigger beds, chairs, etc. That was one of the things Dr. Baker insisted on when he started increasing his surgeries there. And even when I go back for my knee surgery, they have a very good nutrition staff that caters to any need ... diabetic, bariatric, etc. They have a varied menu to choose from. You should work on your hospital to get more bariatric friendly equipment, if they don't have it now. Spectrum Blodgett is a shining example of the way to go. Dr. Baker is the reason for that.

You are a shining example of how to work the program. Congrats on your success. What a treat for you on Halloween! (now my Halloweeen anniversary memory is when I was 10 ... I got my first period ... I was so excited ... when I look back on that now, I think, oh yuck! But it was the day I became a woman.)

Happy Halloween OFF Family!

Today I am dressing up in my gym clothes and hitting the eliptical, working with the personal trainer and then the row machine, after which I will hit the shower, get dressed in some lightweight street clothes (lol) and head to Barix for my 1 year post-op with my surgeon, after which I will get a manicure, stop and buy candy for the little goulies of my neighborhood and wait for the little creatins to show up in their ghastly digs. . .  this year I had not time to shop for a costume and the one I wore the last two years, well it doesn't fit anymore

After all is said and done, I will be attending my women's AA meeting and then come home to watch some television before going to bed, so that I am well rested for tomorrow's big day at Barix (the place where I had my surgery), the 1st Saturday Monthly Support Group is starting, which is open to all WLS people wanting and needing support, not limited to Barix patients and I will be a leader in training for the newly post-ops to six month group!  This group is in addition to two other nighttime meetings held at other times during the month, as they get the idea that support is an integral part of this journey.

Well I'd best be getting those gym clothes on, you all have a great day and if you facing challenges, please be sure I am sending out my prayers and positive thoughts for you and those recovering from surgery, positive healing thoughts for you!!!

Hugs, Laureen

Well George if you want it cooler, you can come visit me.  It's about 30 here and we had snow on tuesday.

I am getting very excited as my surgery is coming on Wednesday - only a few more days.  Yeah!!  My emotions are all over the place but I have been reassured that it is normal (me normal???).

Happy Halloween to all.

Good morning friends....

And congratulations to all of you that have reached your goals, came close to your goals, and also to those who made this lifesaving decision to have WLS and give yourselves a better life... goal or no goal!

It's a cold, brisk morning here in New England!  29 degrees right now, but it's supposed to warm up to around 50 and become sunny this afternoon.  No rain for the trick or treaters!  That'll be nice for them.  We don't usually bother to stay home on Halloween, we never get any trick or treaters anyway.  So we'll do our usual Friday night "out to dinner"... something mushy for me (had 1st fill Tues).

Went to my 2nd water aerobics class last night.  A different instructor teaches Thurs than the one who teaches on Wed.  She's a little tougher!  But I survived!  Next class is 8 a.m. Saturday morning (what on earth was I thinking when I signed up for THAT class time??)  I like going to these classes because the women are closer to my age (some a little older, some a little younger) and because only a couple of them are teeny tiny.  Most of the women there are "real"... what you see is what you get kind of people.  I like that.

Off to work now.... time to get my day started.

Have a great day!
Vicky

Judy, are you keeping a log of what goes between your teeth? everything, and how your day progresses? you might be able to do a process of elimination on what is causing your loose bowels....

Just a thought.
