gstroscopy

Hi everyone and good morning!!
Well, I made it through the gastroscopy on Monday just fine ...but today my throat is sore...go figure!!  I had a message waiting on my phone when I got home from Edmonton after the procedure that said the surgeon wanted to talk to me asap.  Of course I worried through the night and next morning wondering what had gone wrong.
He finally called me at 11:00 the next day and said everything had gone well but he wanted me to meet with one of his colleagues before we decided  on a type of surgery for sure.  He is leaning towards the Realize band and I am okay with that.  Anyhow I see the other guy next Monday so will know what is going to happen for sure then.  My surgery date is tentatively Dec 3.

Still wish I was in ARizona now but maybe I can go after my first fill in January for a while.  So far the weather has cooperated but I am not looking forward to that 41/2 hour drive to  Edmonton when the roads get bad.
Oh, my daughter had the baby on Saturday morning.. a 8lb 14 oz boy named Jonas.  All is well and we are happy to have another grandson.

Have a great day and Happy Halloween to you all too.

Eydie, it sounds like things are going well. I am sorry about the discomfort that you had after your scope but that is a normal complaint after them.

Just think! It isn't going to be long for you now. The time is coming close and you will be on the Loser's Bench. We should start cleaning and moving over for you soon.

Congratulations on the new grandson. He sounds like a healthy boy. I weighed 8lbs 15oz when I was born. Back then I was a biggun!

Have a super day and we hope to hear from you soon.

I am not sure that I have time to meet you, but I have read your posts and glad to welcome you to the OFF board...

Jonas!  What a wonderful name and such a healthy baby.  How many grandchildren do you have?    I have one grandson, Steele, who is 7.  And a granddaughter, Mattie, who is 19 months old...Both are such joys!

Glad the scope went well...I had a bit of a scare when I went for my pre-op stuff and they said the upper GI showed some irritation.  And my doctor wanted to do an endoscopy when I went in for my band.  I didn't know if I would wake up with the band or have to postpone the surgery.  As it turned out I was banded and the endoscopy showed nothing to worry about.

Hope things go well from this point on...

Thanks Sheila.  I have two grandchildren too.  Talis is 2 1/2 years old and now wee Jonas/.  We really love being grandparents .  Our son's girlfriend also has a 11 month old so he is kind of a third grandchild.

Hope to be jopining you soon on the losers bench.    Eydie

Edyie,

Sounds like you will soon be joining us on the Loser's Bench, so hope your throat is feeling better and that you are prepared to begin living some of the dreams that being an obese person hampers.

Best wishes, Laureen
